How to Get New Fortnite Air Strike Item

With the latest Fortnite update. We’ve had some additions to the game’s loot pool. One of the most exciting is the Fortnite Air Strike! We’ve had similar items in the past and they’ve always been fairly powerful in lobbies. The Air Strike is now back in the form of the Precision Air Strike. A newer version which should be very destructive. How can you track it down in game?

The big Fortnite news from the update might be Gorillaz coming as the new Festival Pass. But there’s a handful of new items here too. With the OP weapons getting nerfed in two hotfixes, there’s plenty of room for innovation in how you play this season. The Precision Airstrike is necessary to complete a Weekly Quest. But it’s also great for breaking through builds and upsetting the meta of the game.

The item is a bit of a pain to track down. Players will need to engage with some of the mechanics exclusive to this season. Like the O.X.R rank. However, the reward is definitely worth it. The new Fortnite Air Strike can be very disruptive in late game circles. If you want to collect the Fortnite Air Strike, where is it in-game and how does it work?

How to Get the Fortnite Air Strike

The new Fortnite Air Strike item is part of the general loot pool. It’s in spots like chests… but since this is a rarer item there are some ways to make it easier. All random loot comes down to RNG. However, the special loot locations have a much higher chance of spawning some items. That now includes the Fortnite Air Strike. It’s part of the rare chests and O.X.R set of loot.

While you can happen upon one in general locations, the O.X.R pods are the best spots. It doesn’t seem to be in air drops either. Although, these only arrive with the Shadow Briefings right now. You can get the pods in a few different ways though.

The O.X.R Pods from ranking up can drop these kinds of items. However, it’s most likely one you hit Rank S. Which means you’ll probably only get it later in the game. There’s also the Pods that spawn for clearing out bugs at some locations. Marked with a bug symbol on the map. Both of these spots have a higher chance of spawning one. Although, the Fortnite Air Strike is one of the rarest items this season. It’s up there with the best Fortnite weapons. Players might take a few games before they actually stumble on one.

There are also the bunkers. The Air Strike is now in the loot pool for these display cases like the Exotic weapons. That one is entirely luck based though! No way of knowing what’ll be in it until you crack it open.

How to Rank Up Quickly to Get the Air Strike

If you want to consistently get the Fortnite Air Strike item, there are a few options. But the most consistent is to use the O.X.R Rank system. But how can you rank up quickly? You get rank points for a lot of different actions in-game. But some are much easier to rank up quickly. These are the ones to focus on:

• Killing Queen Bug Bosses – Big points for doing this. It gets you nearly to A right off spawn.
• Killing bugs and Infestations – As well as the loot you get for doing this, it’s also worth another rank or so.
• Eliminations – Fewer points, but still useful
• Surviving Storm Circles – Everyone gets some minimum points for getting through storm circles.

If you’re trying to increase your O.X.R Rank, it’s easiest to deal with the extra objectives. The bugs, the infestations, and queen bug boss fights. It’s a big annoying to have to waste half of the game doing these objectives rather than actually playing Fortnite. However, it’s how the meta has turned lately.

These objectives get a lot more points for your time than getting kills and surviving. It does set you up with fantastic loot for the end game though. So while you’ll be fighting NPCs at the opening, you’re set up for a Victory Royale later in the game.

What Does the Fortnite Air Strike Do?

That’s where you’ll need to go to get the Fortnite Air Strike, but how can you use it? It’s very similar to the previous air strikes. All you need to do is aim, and throw it. Once it hits, it’ll mark the locations. An air strike will then be called in pretty quickly!

The Fortnite Air strike has previously been very useful for breaking up the dense builds in the end-game. Players can usually move out of the way quick enough, but they’ll be on the back foot. Making them easier to pick off afterwards and set you up for a Victory Royale later in the game.
