Mark the date on your calendar, Counter-Strike 2 players. July 14. It’s set to be a big day for CS2 fans everywhere, especially those who spend the majority of their time playing Premier mode.

July 14 is suddenly a big day for Counter-Strike 2 players

Why, you ask? Valve has officially confirmed that Season 2 of CS2 Premier mode will end on July 14, giving players a concrete date to get 25 Premier wins and a visible CS Rating in time to receive the Season 2 medal. It’s unusually transparent for Valve, a developer that typically drops updates without any warning. Dare I say, it’s refreshing.

CS2 Premier Season 2 ends on July 14

Last week, we reported (speculated) that CS2 Premier Season 2 could be set to end soon, based on the fact that Valve said it would conclude following the BLAST.tv Austin Major. With this concrete date locked down, Valve was technically telling the truth, albeit a little later than we might have expected. Still, it’s good to know that July 14 is when players can expect Season 2 of CS2 Premier to end.

If Season 1 is the blueprint, then players can expect a few hours of downtime before Season 3 begins. This likely means that July 15 is the start date of CS2 Premier Season 3, when leaderboards and CS Rating will refresh as players fight for that precious ELO. We may even see an Active Duty map pool change – last time around, it was Train coming in for Vertigo. Cache, anyone?
