CS2 Premier Season 4 has officially begun, with Train making way for Anubis’ return in the Active Duty map pool. However, some players’ attention has already turned to Season 5. Valve has yet to reveal the exact CS2 Premier Season 4 end date, but we can certainly put together a solid estimate based on previous evidence.

Season 1 of CS2’s Premier mode was an anomaly, lasting well over a year while Valve got its bearings. Ever since, the developer has been far more regular with its Seasons. Back at the start of Season 2, Valve explicitly confirmed that it would end following the BLAST.tv Austin Major, but did not make the same promise for Season 3. In the end, though, both would last six months, concluding around a month after their respective Majors.
With Counter-Strike 2’s lifecycle now in full swing, it seems that Valve has officially set a precedent for six-month Premier seasons. This means that the CS2 Premier Season 4 end date should be just after the IEM Cologne Major 2026, which ends on June 21st, 2026.
Valve won’t necessarily start the next Counter-Strike 2 Premier season the day after the IEM Cologne Major. That’d be out of character. However, players should still expect the CS2 Premier Season 4 end date to be around this, meaning it should arrive in approximately mid-July. When you look at previous dates, Premier Season 3 started on July 16th, 2025, and I would imagine we’ll see a similar date for Season 5.
When Valve releases Season 5 of Premier for Counter-Strike 2, gamers can definitely expect another map pool change. Valve has set the precedent that every new season will come with a map pool change at this point, and there’s no reason to think that won’t be the case now going forward. Some think that CS2 Premier Season 5 could be the opportunity for Valve to finally bring back Cache, after it never arrived at the start of Season 4.

Valve is typically elusive about this sort of thing, so for now, we’ll just have to wait and see for when the CS2 Premier Season 4 end date comes. For now, just make sure you’re looking out for mid-2026 and the Cologne Major.
