Cloud9 Rainbow Six has had a pretty major social media blunder this week after they announced the roster was seemingly done in a “farewell” post on social media. However, that isn’t the case, and if it is, then it’s news to the players involved.

Cloud9 Rainbow Six Roster Allowed to Explore Options but Roster not Released

It’s been a rough start to 2026 for Rainbow Six Siege rosters. We’ve had Gen.G start fresh, ENVY drop their roster ahead of the LCQ, Chiefs Esports Club depart the game, and Fnatic looking to start fresh as well. As for Cloud9, it looks like it might have been a bit of miscommunication from the social media team for now, with the players on the roster quick to clarify.

In a now deleted tweet, Cloud9 announced a “farewell” to the Siege roster on the 26th of February. This was quickly shut down by members of the squad who clarified what was going on. Cloud9 Siege coach Charles “Vivid” Stahelek said, “Just to clarify, we didn’t get dropped, they were just thanking us for the past year of us being on the team. We still have our spot, but they are just letting us explore options if we wanted to join other teams if we got offered.” He would later go on to add to this in a reply saying, “It was definitely worded wrong, but they think we will potentially be getting better offers after si from other teams. They would love to have us back, but they understand that some of us might get a better offer, so I guess it was kind of a prefire from them”

The situation looks a bit messy, though from the quotes, tweets, and deleted tweets, it looks like Cloud9 is just giving their rosters the chance to take a better offer if one comes up. For now, at least, it looks like Cloud9’s Rainbow Six Siege roster is staying as is. However, that might also change fairly quickly, not helped by the current situation being made so public. There’s also the chance that news is expected soon, but cannot be announced.

Regardless, we’ll update this post or do a new one when anything official comes from Cloud9 or the roster. The roster is due to compete at the Six Invitational on February 5th.
