The 2025 MSC Group Stage Day 4 results were mostly as expected, but we saw a surge of unique hero picks throughout the day!
Here’s everything that went down on Day 4 of the MSC Group Stage.

The first match of the day started with a surprise pick from Team Flash’s KurtTzy and JPL. They selected Lolita as their MLBB roamer and Gord as the mid laner—two heroes who hadn’t seen the light of day in this tournament until now.
Early on, the Chinese representatives DIANFENGYAOGUAI (DFYG) held a dominant lead all the way into the late game. We thought this would finally be their moment to showcase the results of a year’s worth of training, after being touted as the most promising newcomers last year. Although they secured the final Lord, it cost them two team members, leaving only three to defend their base. Team Flash capitalized and ended the game in a “flash,” taking a 1-0 lead.
Game 2 featured more meta picks compared to the opener. With a more standard draft, Team Flash controlled the pace from early to mid-game. DFYG did show signs of life, even claiming the final Lord again, but were nearly wiped out in the process. This gave Team Flash the perfect opportunity to close out the series with a clean 2-0. As a result, DFYG became the third team eliminated from the tournament, while Team Flash survived to fight another day.

This was the highlighted match of Day 4, as Aurora Gaming had just taken down one of the tournament favorites—ONIC PH in Day 2. All eyes were now on RRQ to see if they would suffer the same fate.
Game 1 showcased Aurora’s potential to reach the next level, standing toe-to-toe with other breakout teams like Team Spirit. The draft phase was chaotic and confusing, making the game feel like something entirely new. Aurora picked Atlas for their roamer, while RRQ countered with Kaja—two heroes that hadn’t seen international play for nearly a year. Aurora clearly had a plan, combining their picks into a well-executed combo to counter RRQ. The result? A dominant win for Aurora Gaming, shocking everyone with back-to-back victories over both Philippine and Indonesian teams.
However, the tide turned in Games 2 and 3. RRQ appeared to have cracked the code of Aurora Gaming’s strategy. In Game 2, Aurora pulled out pocket picks like Benedetta for EXP and Angela for roam, but RRQ exploited their lack of early-game damage. Another crucial adjustment was denying Rosa his comfort pick, Selena—a hero that often gave opponents nightmares. In Game 3, RRQ continued to read Aurora’s draft patterns and dictated the game pace, leading to a decisive reverse sweep.
With this win, RRQ became the third team to join the “2-0” group, gaining the right to choose their Knockout Stage opponents. Aurora Gaming, meanwhile, still has one more chance to advance during tomorrow’s matches.

This matchup came as a surprise in MSC Group Stage Day 4, as most expected ONIC PH to secure an upper bracket spot easily—until Aurora Gaming pulled off the upset. Area 77 had the unfortunate draw of facing both an Indonesian and a Philippine team during the group stage, arguably giving them the toughest run of all teams.
Both Games 1 and 2 were dominated by ONIC PH. They even picked Kagura, marking her debut appearance in the tournament. The second game ended swiftly in just 12 minutes, leaving Area 77 with virtually no room to respond.
The Super Fam lives to fight another day, while Area 77 becomes the fourth team eliminated from the tournament. The loser of tomorrow’s final group match will face ONIC PH for one of the last remaining Knockout Stage slots.
The last match of MSC Group Stage Day 4 was expected to be close, but Team Spirit demonstrated why they’re considered one of the strongest international squads. Both Games 1 and 2 were competitive in the early game, but Team Spirit showed impeccable timing when contesting neutral objectives, turning each fight in their favor.
Game 1 featured a surprise Guinevere jungle pick by Oneshot, which helped lock down Homebois’ backline. In Game 2, Homebois tried to counter with Kadita for burst and crowd control, but Team Spirit’s objective-focused gameplay overpowered them, resulting in a convincing 2-0 win.
With this victory, Team Spirit secured the final spot in the “2-0” group, completing the lineup of top-seeded teams. Homebois will still have a chance to qualify for the Knockout Stage—but first, they’ll need to get past ONIC PH.
We’ve got a new format for MSC 2025, where the “2-0” group teams will choose their Knockout Stage opponents based on the total time of their winning games. Here are the rankings in descending order:
Team Liquid—0:53:14
RRQ—1:01:53
Team Spirit—1:04:52
Mythic SEAL—1:07:01
This means Team Liquid will have the first pick, followed by RRQ and Team Spirit. Mythic SEAL will be left with whichever team is unpicked by the other three.
The final day of the MSC 2025 Group Stage takes place on July 27, 2025, at 12:00 PM GMT+3, featuring all the remaining teams with 1-1 records. These matches will determine the last four teams advancing to the Knockout Stage.
The day will conclude with the picking phase, where the four “2-0” teams will choose their Knockout Stage opponents based on their winning times.
