The battleground is heating up as the MPL ID S16 Playoffs roar into action. Following a fierce regular season, six standout squads entered the playoff stage. Across the first three days, fans have witnessed dramatic comebacks, breakout performances, and early statements from teams hungry for the championship crown.
Of course, the Sky Kings, ONIC Indonesia, still wants to defend their crown as they enter the Grand Finals during the 3rd day of the playoffs.
This season’s playoffs is monumental. Three huge teams, RRQ Hoshi, Geek Fam ID, and Team Liquid ID, failed to make it for first time. This is how things kicked off at the MPL ID S16 Playoffs.

The playoffs kicked off with a high-stakes Play-In round where the 3rd to 6th seeds clashed for a shot at staying alive. Every rotation, draft adjustment, and team fight carried massive consequences. The underdogs NAVI and Dewa United Esports both almost had their upset against the 3rd and 4th seeds, Alter Ego and EVOS.
One of the day’s most gripping moments came when DEWA United almost outlasted EVOS in a razor-thin 2-3 showdown. On the other hand, Alter Ego won against NAVI but the underdogs made the 3rd seed sweat first. It was a perfect opener that set the tone for the rest of the weekend.

Day 2 was where momentum started to shift. Alter Ego stunned everyone with a convincing 3-1 score over their 2nd seed opponent. Bigetron by Vitality proving that preparation and confidence in their plays matter far more than seeding. Alter Ego never beat Bigetron by Vitality durring the regular season, but when it mattered the most, they stepped up big time, being the first team to advance in the Upper Bracket finals.
Meanwhile, top seed ONIC Esports were forced to dig deep. Their matchup against the 4th seed EVOS turned into a back-and-forth thriller, with ONIC clutching victory thanks to their star jungler, Kairi.
Teams with creative drafting and deep MLBB hero pools clearly stood out as most of the games in the playoffs go the distance.

The final day of the MPL S16 ID Playoffs started with Bigetron by Vitality up against EVOS. Bigetron continues their curse of exiting the playoffs early. It has been a trend for Bigetron not to enter the Grand Finals after being high placements in the group stage. It continues as they lost to EVOS convincingly with a score of 3-0.
The Upper Bracket Final delivered fireworks as ONIC Esports took on Alter Ego. What began as a one-sided affair with ONIC immediately getting match point, quickly turned into a nail-biter, after Alter Ego miraculously tied the score 2-2. The final game however was in favor of ONIC as yet again their star jungler Kairi as well as roamer, Kiboy popped off.
Alter Ego didn’t have a chance to take it to late game, giving ONIC the first spot in the Grand Finals of MPL ID S16. ONIC now joins Team Liquid PH and Aurora Gaming as the first teams to enter M7 MLBB World Championship.
As the playoffs continue, the pressure only builds higher as it’s just the best MLBB teams left. Alter Ego will still have another chance against EVOS tomorrow, November 1, 2025, to get the last spot in M7 while ONIC awaits the winner in the Grand Finals.
With every team giving their all, the MPL ID Season 16 Playoffs are shaping up to be one of the most thrilling chapters in Indonesia’s MLBB history.
