Dewa United Esports surprised everybody as they beat EVOS coming back from a long break for MPL ID S15. Dewa had a refreshing new look with an a recent acquisition to help them rise to the ranks of MPL Indonesia.
With MPL ID S15 resuming from their long break, we’ve seen multiple roster changes for teams to try to improve their chances to go to playoffs. One of them is Dewa United Esports acquiring Rezzz from ONIC.
Rezzz was a household name in the ONIC house as he was part of ONIC’s MDL team, promoted to the big leagues of MPL ID. Unfortunately, things weren’t working out with him and ONIC’s old roster ever since MPL ID S14. His skill was there but the chemistry might not have fit with the others. It continued until the start of MPL ID S15, which might have led to management decision to trade him.

EVOS had a good run for the first part of MPL ID, dominating strong teams like Bigetron Esports and Team Liquid ID while Dewa United Esports struggled to find footing in the tournament. EVOS has recently acquired SwayLow as Team Vamos got ClawKun for their Mid Laner.
Rezzz also debuted with Dewa United Esports, but he surprised everybody with his performance, fitting in with the team’s gameplay. Dewa United Esports had a faster adjustment period as they’ve bested EVOS, the current Top 2 in the league, with a score of 2-1 during the first day of Week 4 of MPL ID S15.
During Game 1, Dewa United Esports had a steady lead, with their Gold Laner, Maybeee and Roamer Mueza playing perfectly. Rezzz was always at the frontlines to prevent EVOS from taking or stealing the neutral objective from them. They would eventually turn around each team fight and win all of the fights that happened. EVOS didn’t have any chance for a comeback and was snowballed by Dewa until their crystal broke, giving Dewa the first point of the series.
The second game however was the opposite as EVOS didn’t leave any space for Dewa to breathe with the constant fights as well as pressuring them on the map. Dewa only got a single turret out of all the team fights and neutral objective contentions, completely shut out of the map. The game lasted longer than usual, however, EVOS eventually won the game since Dewa players can’t even go outside the map to farm until the end game, tying the score 1-1.
The last game was much more close as the two teams had a more back and forth trading objectives. Dewa United Esports had a slight lead at first but the first Lord was gotten by EVOS, which propelled them to a better state. Dewa held on while EVOS had their first push and first gold lead of the game, while going towards Dewa’s base. For the next Lord spawn, EVOS and Dewa was finding openings until the new recruit Rezzz found and initiated on the other new recruit of the other team, SwayLow, to give them the man advantage. This drove EVOS to back off and give Dewa the neutral objective, where they now had the lead, and eventually won the game.
This broke Dewa United Esports’ 3-Match lose streak, propelling them to a better spot in the league, and a chance to advance to the playoffs. The other matched played this day was ONIC vs NAVI where ONIC won 2-1 with yet another roster shuffle, including Lutpii and Savero. Both ONIC and Dewa United Esports are tied with the same exact Match and Game scores of 3-3 and 8-8 respectively, which they are also the 5th and 6th seeds currently, earning a potential spot for the playoffs. This will give them a chance to attempt to enter MSC 2025 x EWC in Riyadh on July if they get top 2. Dewa United Esports will have another match this week against Geek Fam ID on April 20, 2025 8:30 PM GMT+7.
