ONIC’s Golden Road has been quite a bumpy ride since the start of both MPL Philippines and Indonesia Season 15. As early as Week 2, we see both ONIC’s regional branches at the top of the scoreboard but that’s not the case this time.

In their recent tournament, Snapdragon Pro Series Season 6, both ONIC PH and ONIC ID went to the Grand Finals, beating teams like Team Liquid ID, Aurora Gaming, and Team Falcons. Everyone was anticipating them to do well in their own region by the first few weeks but what we received was unexpected.

Rough Start in ONIC Esports’ Golden Road

ONIC PHILIPPINES – MPL PHILIPPINES SEASON 15

ONIC Philippines is currently 2-3 in standings, with 2 teams left to face this coming Week 4. It has been surprising with their return as the current World Champions, and previous season champs, that they are in the middle position as of now. Team Falcons, Aurora Gaming, and Team Liquid PH continue their domination in MPL PH S15, leaving ONIC PH to deal with catching up for the next half. With only week 4 left and the teams left for them to face are Smart Omega and Twisted Minds. This should be in their favor to salvage their run if they still want to take the top 2 spots of Regular Season.

ONIC ESPORTS – MPL INDONESIA SEASON 15

On the other side, ONIC Esports (Indonesia), is currently 0-3, which is a first for the organization in their entire history of being in MPL Indonesia since Season 2. The organization was known as the Sky Kings, housing the 5 Hokages that peaked Indonesian MLBB. They also have 2 MSC titles in their belt while also finishing a runner up during M5.

This is the first time we’ve seen them in their weakest performance, but they still have 5 more games to bounce back. The only thing that is different from Snapdragon was their starting roster where they had Savero and Lutpii instead of CW and Rezzz. They even used Nnael, a jungler, to fill in the EXP Lane role, to see if they can work with it. Wether ONIC Esports are in the experimental phase of changing rosters or trying new compositions, hopefully they decide to use the roster they won with recently, in the near future.

Regardless of the current results, both ONIC teams has just started their year and the Golden Road is still in the horizon for them to achieve. What matters now is for them to gather enough wins to advance to the Playoffs. Don’t miss the action for MPL PH S15‘s fourth week and Week 3 of MPL ID S15.
