There’s a brand new Fortnite skin in the game, but it’s only available to players who are part of quite a specific platform. The Vivo Valoriza Fortnite skin has been an exciting discovery in today’s update, along with new weapons and a choppa. But it’s a specific type of promotion which is going to be hard for a lot of people to access. This is how the Vivo Valoriza Fortnite skin works, and who can actually even unlock the quests to try and earn the free skin.
In today’s Fortnite update, we’ve seen a new free skin added. Well, kind of free. It’s available to use who use the Vivo platform. But not to anyone else.
This new free skin at aimed at subscribers in regions where Vivo operates. It’s specifically tied to Fortnite on mobile in these regions. To get the skin, players have to subscribe to this platform for a monthly fee. If you’re already a subscriber then this is essentially a free Fortnite skin. But if you’re subscribing purely for the skin, then it could work out to be a worse deal than just V-Bucks.
What’s got some players frustrated is that it’s a bit difficult to get access to this from certain places. It’s not the first time Epic has essentially region-locked free skins though. The promotions that took place as regions got Fortnite on iOS back were locked out for users in other server regions How can you get the Vivo Valoriza Fortnite skin?
To actually unlock the new Vivo Valoriza Fortnite skin, players need to jump through a few hoops. They’ll need to be subscribers to the platform to claim their code. Or if you’re outside of the target area, be able to get someone to get a code for you. Then, enter the code in the normal Fortnite redeem code way. But once claimed, you don’t get the free skin.
Instead, players are given access to special quests for the Thrilldiver skin. They’ll need to earn 100,000 in XP to actually get the skin. So probably some time on XP maps if you want to get through it. The whole process has to be done on mobile too. The other versions of Fortnite won’t work. Even if you have the code, you have to do the grinding on mobile.
It’s always annoying when a free Fortnite skin is essentially geo-locked to a specific place. Especially this has become a common occurrence in the last year. We’ll see the skin in the item shop eventually, but players will have to wait until then. It likely won’t cost the most in V-Bucks… but that’s always worse than free. Unfortunately, it’ll likely be one a lot of players just have to sit out.
