The Infinity Blade Fortnite is finally back in the game! One of the first massive overpowered weapons that was added in Chapter 1 is coming back to the game. This time though, it’s for a single weekend only. Then it’s gone again forever.
The Infinity Blade Fortnite item is one that has had a huge impact on the game, and its return probably won’t be repeated. At least once this season of OG is wrapped up.
Fortnite OG has been lovingly recreating the original meta of Fortnite. After the OG mini season was such a hit, it got its own mode. Which started up in Chapter 1 Season 1. Then progressed through the Fortnite seasons, it’s now already in C1 S7.
This has meant going through a few features which were only in the game for a limited time. Like the Zapatron. That was originally added by mistake, so it got vaulted half an hour later. When it came back later in the season, it was around quite a bit longer. A whole weekend in Fortnite OG. It seems something similar is happening for the Infinity Blade Fortnite item. This is when it’s coming back and why it’s such a big deal.

We haven’t seen a Fortnite update since shocks got vaulted in Battle Royale, but OG has had a major change. It’s now got one of the most powerful weapons we’ve ever seen in Fortnite. It does mobility, damage, healing, it’s pretty much all you need. Plus, it’s claimable by one person only.
This is the Infinity Blade Fortnite. An item added in during Season 7 originally. it was in the game for a very brief window of time. But that was long enough to trash a Fortnite esports tournament. The Winter Royale descended into farce as players were mangled by Infinity blade which annihilated the builds around players. Items which let you demolish buildings like that was horribly destructive in tournaments. Then it got vaulted, never to be seen again.
Until now. Fortnite OG has finally cycled around to where it was when the Infinity Blade Fortnite was first added. We’ve got the item back in for the weekend. You can find it in the same spot it was in originally. buried in the ground waiting to be pulled, like a sword in the stone.
It’s going to make one spot on the map the ultimate place to drop over the weekend. We might even see most of the lobby getting wiped out just in that POI. It should bring a bit more attention back to OG though. Especially with Battle Royale having such an irritating meta right now.
Although, one player gets a god-like sword and everyone else has to deal with it isn’t really much more balanced! The Infinity Blade Fortnite was a fun part of the history of the game though, it’s great more players will get to experience why we don’t get weapons like that anymore.
The Fortnite infinity blade is one of the earlier attempts at Melee weapons in Battle Royale. These have been a permanent part the game in recent seasons, but originally, they were much sparser. The Infinity Blade Fortnite added wasn’t just a swords though. it had incredible powers.

Only one player can pull it. Once they do, they essentially become a boss on the map. They get 1 shield and HP per second regenerating, along with a 50 siphon effect for each elimination. The sword also dealt 75 damage per swing, so a quick kill. It let the player super jump and slam down, making them much more mobile. It did ridiculous build damage. it even boosted move speed by 30%.
In theory, the inability to build was the limiter behind the Infinity Blade Fortnite item. but in practise it didn’t make a big difference. The weapon was so overpowered it just didn’t have a downside.
The Infinity Blade is back, but not permanently. To recreate the Season 7 experience, it’ll be back for a limited time, and then vaulted. Since this is how the original season went. It ‘ll be here all weekend. Players wanting to try it out will have to be fast.
It’ll be gone once the weekend is over. Players don’t have long to try it out. OG is still heavier on real Fortnite players too. Which means it’ll be quite a bit of competition to unlock it. If you want to try it out, you’ve just got drop at Polar Peak and pull the sword. Then you can try it out and see how the Infinity Blade Fortnite works.
