Fortnite’s latest season only just launched, but within hours, players have identified a major problem. One of the new weapons, the Fortnite Wrecker Revolver, was ridiculous. It was far and away the best thing in the game. In fact, it was just about the only weapon you needed to carry.

Fortnite Wrecker Revolver Nerf Takes Aim at Bizarre C6 S4 Meta

This pistol replaced AR, Shotgun, everything. It even lets you to double pump without jumping through the exotic weapon hoops. Or it did. Epic’s rolling out a Fortnite Wrecker Revolver nerf in a major hotfix.

This latest change to be pushed out should mean big changes from the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4 meta. This early meta of OP medallions and everyone running a single weapon obviously couldn’t last. Anyone jumping into a game over the weekend likely knew this was a meta that couldn’t survive. But the latest hotfix might not go far enough to stop the Fortnite Wrecker Revolver’s domination this season.

New Hotfix Nerfs Fortnite Wrecker Revolver

A bunch of new changes have been shown off by Fortnite dataminers with this new hotfix. It’s hitting the new Fortnite medallions, the Shockwave Launcher, the Swarmstrike, just about every OP item. These are the changes:

  • Fortnite Wrecker Revolver Nerf
  • Mid and Long Range Damage Reduced
  • Max Damage Range Reduced
  • Headshot Damage Down 10

Other Changes

  • Shockwave Launcher Spawn Rate Down
  • Swarmstrike Launcher Range Nerfed
  • Springleg Medallion Jump cut and energy cost increased
  • Surge Medallion boost dropped, slide dropped
  • Rank Ups now Slower by 10% for Duos, Trios, and Squads

These Fortnite hotfix changes are huge! They’re addressing some of the biggest problems with the season. It seems the ability to double pump with the Fortnite Wrecker Revolver has been removed entirely. As has some of its longer distance benefits and headshot damage. Although, this does still leave it outgunning shotguns at the medium range. Losing the Double Pump factor will definitely help reign it in a bit though.

The other big changes are coming to the medallions, which was also needed. The mobility you got from stacking all of them was crazy, but definitely not fun to play against. This Fortnite hotfix might not make it as much fun for the one player with every medallion and two Wrecker Revolvers, but it will be a bit of a better meta.

We’re approaching the FNCS Global Championship Lan soon where we’ll see the top Fortnite players competing for the title. Hopefully the meta for this season is properly balanced by the time we get there. A Grands lobby with those medallions would have been fun to watch, but pretty unfair to most competitors.
