The FNCS Global Championship 2025 is going to be the conclusion of the whole year of competitive games. The best Trios from all around the world will be playing in a single room, in a rare LAN for Fortnite. What can we expect at this tournament that concludes Chapter 6 esports for Fortnite?
The FNCS Global Championship is a yearly LAN, where we get to see all the winners from the year before playing together The FNCS is now organized in a yearly schedule. Each season has a Major, where players go head-to-head in their respective Fortnite regions. The winning teams, and some runners up in the bigger regions, get their slots confirmed at the LAN. Through all three majors, we gradually fill up the roster of FNCS Champions at the Global LAN.
Once the weekend arrives, the format will be quite similar to the Majors throughout the year. It’s a two-day event, with 12 games played in total. There’s no complicated format with multiple rounds here. Players compete in all 12 games and they gradually earn points, for placement and eliminations. At the end of all twelve games, the winning Trio are our new champion for the year. It’s a lot simpler than other Battle Royales, and the qualification for that last lobby is decided through the qualifying events.
Both days have six games, with points the same on Day 1 as 2. In previous years, the game has had extra points on Day 2. This time it’s just a simple leaderboard though, no extra weighting for round 2.

With the results of the whole FNCS Global Championship just coming down to scoring points over a single weekend, how do trios get those points? As is normal for Fortnite esports, it’s placement and kills that matter. This is the scoring system that’s going to be in use:
As the year ending event, the FNCS Global Championship has the biggest prize pool across competitive Fortnite. There is millions in each LAN, and even $500,000 at the Pro-Am, but the Global Championship is a step further. There’s $2,000,000 in total. Plus, each team here won an NCS with a huge prize to qualify. The top-ranking teams get the highest share, but plenty of players will leave with part of the prize pool.
We don’t know the exact breakdown of the prize pool just yet, there’s still some time to go before we get to the FNCS Global Championship and find out.

We might not have all the details yet, but we do know quite a bit about the teams who will be attending the FNCS Globals 2025. This year the whole FNCS is being played in Trios, so it’s only 33 teams who will make it to the LAN. Out of those teams, the slots are weighted towards the bigger regions.
The Majors so far have already locked in a load of Trios, including most of the big names that are all over the streams for the FNCS this season. These are the teams confirmed to be playing at the LAN so far:

There’s also another 11 slots still to get filled at Major 3. Although, we don’t know much what the game will look like for that last Major! Next season could upend the meta for these qualifying slots.

The FNCS 2025 is going to be held in Lyon-Decines, France. At the last LAN, players got a FNCS Pickaxe code for attending, so there’s plenty of reasons to attend in-person if you’re close enough.
The FNCS Global Championship will feature teams who qualified through FNCS Majors. To earn their slot, a trio had to perform well in the Divisional Cups to reach the semis, then get their slot for a regional FNCS LAN. Finally, they had to win or rank very highly in the FNCS Major for a season.
FNCS stands for Fortnite Champion Series, it’s been the primary esports league for Fortnite since Chapter 1, Season X. Going through some changes since it first launched and its current form, which culminates in the 2025 FNCS Global Championship.
