There’s another new mode coming, Fortnite Delulu! Or up until a day or so ago, a new mode called Party Crashers. A name which makes quite a bit more sense given what we know about the game.
This latest addition to Battle Royale will add a much more social experience. It’s a Battle Royale themed around the proximality chat feature we’ve been expecting for a while now. it’s going to be a limited mode, launching this weekend. With a more talkative aspect than normal Battle Royale.
Tons of games use proximality hat to let players talk to each other. It’s a bit different for a Battle Royale though. In these games, audio is a key part of your intel. It lets you know where other players are, getting the audio right is a key part of the best Fortnite settings. This new Fortnite mode is planning to make talking with enemies a key part of gameplay. This is what we know about Fortnite Delulu, and how it’s going to work.
This weekend we’re expecting the launch of a brand-new mode. It’s going to be a smaller Battle Royale, but the big difference will be the focus on conversation. That’s what we’re expecting with Fortnite Delulu.
Lately, the big story often seems to be the Fortnite player count and how it compares to the past. A big part of that conversation is Epic spreading the remaining players thinner and thinner by adding more and more modes. It doesn’t seem like anyone making the modes is particularly worried about this though, they’re adding another brand-new mode to the game this weekend. It’s called Fortnite Delulu, and was called Party Crashes in most of the early leaks.

The new mode is expected to come pretty soon, with the next Fortnite update. Alongside Proximality Chat getting rolled out as a feature across the game. It’s going to be the core feature for this mode. Rather than being a role-player focused creative map, like we expected for proximality Chat, it’s a Battle Royale that throws out the rules.
The mode is going to be another Battle Royale experience. It’ll be limited to 80 players, and only playable Solo. But that doesn’t mean you won’t have team mates.
The game is being billed as essentially the teaming game mode. Players will need to use proximality Chat to make alliances will other players. Epic isn’t enforcing no teaming in this mode, it’s actually the point of the mode. So, players will have to talk and figure out how to proceed when they run into an enemy.
This mechanic explains the original name, party crashers. Since you’re essentially finding strangers in the map to join your party. The current name, Fortnite Delulu, isn’t the best fit… but maybe Epic has seen the big player counts for Steal the Brainrot and decided to name the new mode to fit.

In practise, it could turn into a normal Battle Royale with a lot more toxicity. Even with the teaming rules though, players seem to find plenty of ways to have fun in Battle Royale with other players. We’ll probably see plenty of lobbies get more cooperative.
One thing that might be nice is the impact on bots. Fortnite has tons in most modes, but since this is focused on talking, it might not have any! We could see players sticking to this mode even without the voice chat just to get a human-only Battle Royale experience.
The other thing to think about with Fortnite Delulu launching is if we’re getting a free skin. Epic has been launching new modes with free Fortnite skins for a while, it would be good to get one for this too. It isn’t guaranteed though.
We’ve had tons of free skins lately, so maybe this will be a game launch that skips out on the promotion this time. The lead up has been using a new Evie skin an awful lot. This could be the free offering, or it could just be promotion for a new item shop skin.
The new mode is scheduled to come online on Friday September 9th! It’s not going to be a permanent addition to the game though. It’ll only be available on weekends, Friday-Sunday. It’s expected to go live on the first Friday.
The new mode is being billed as limited. Although, the last LTM that got added was made permanent. The Fortnite Blitz mode was popular enough to stick around. Maybe Fortnite Delulu will be big enough to stick around too.
