Where is the mother of Thorns boss in Fortnite? Now Fortnitemares has begun, we’ve had a bunch of new collabs added to the game, including for some reason, a Halloween Doja Cat skin and boss. Since Fortnitemares is focusing exclusively on collabs, you can find the mother of Thorns Fortnite location to get some great loot this season.
If you want to get everything possible unlocked during the Fortnitemares event, you’ll need to interact with the Doja Cat Fortnite collab quite a bit. There’s some Fortnite quests tied to it. But the Mother of Thorns Fortnite skin isn’t guaranteed to be in a specific spot every game. It’s a bit more random than other Halloween features.
For some reason, the recent Doja Cat Fortnite collab wasn’t for Festival Season 11. Instead, Epic have decided to use the artist as a boss in Battle Royale alongside a bunch of horror collabs. Which means players can track down the Mother of Thorns Fortnite location to meet her in-game, then kill her and get an exclusive item. This is how it works and what to expect:
One of the new Fortnite bosses for this update is the Mother of Thorns. It’s one of two new Fortnite skins for the artist, and the one which is a bit more heightened for Fortnite’s Battle Royale world. It’s also on the map as a character you can interact with! But, it’s not as simple as the Jason Fortnite boss. This one spawns a bit more randomly. Although, it is the only way to get an exclusive item.
There are three different places that the Mother of Thorns Fortnite location could be. In one of the three pumpkin locations on the map right now, other than the Pumpkin Pass, that is.
Doja Cat in Fortnite could be at Gourdy Gate, the patch west of Supernova Academy, or in Freaky Fields. She can spawn in any one of these three places!
It is a little harder to know exactly which she spawns at since there’s no Medallion, so no giant map marker. But once you’re close enough, you can see an icon if there is a boss. It’s after you drop though, no getting advanced information from the map on the bus. She’s also in the same place in the POI each time, a throne, with specific music. So, it’s fairly simple to know if you guessed right or not.
On the other hand, if you pick the wrong spot out of three, you might not have time to check the others. The best Fortnite weapons are fairly well spread out though, so you can make sure you’re getting good loot either way.
Once you track down the Mother of Thorns Fortnite location, you can fight the NPC to get their loot! It’s an interaction most of the Fortnite player base is probably used to by now. Walk in, take them down.
For this specific fight, just keep your distance a little bit and shoot at her. There’s nothing particularly special about the fight. No crazy attacks or fake outs, she just uses her weapon. It’s annoying, but easy to defeat in a few minutes.
Once you defeat Doja Cat in Fortnite she drops the Thorn Ripper Mythic. This is an item similar to the old Chains of Hades, likely chosen after a famous viral moment where the artist railed against Epic on Twitter for adding these novelty items to Fortnite over actual guns.
She also drops Mythic Slurps and joins you as an NPC. A very useful drop of items for the rest of the game.
Some people think it’s a little strange that Doja Cat wasn’t the artist for Festival Season 11, especially considering a bunch of official artwork of the skins have all the Festival branding. She’d easily fit into the Fortnite Icon Series for that mode. However, bringing her into Battle Royale with a boss location is a fun way to do it too.
The Mother of Thorns Fortnite location has been active the event began, but Doja Cat was also the first to release in the shop. While we’ve had to wait to see the Ghostface Fortnite skin released or Jason come to Fortnite, Doja Cat has been here since the update hit. Her skin will likely linger in the shop for at least the rest of Fortntiemares. So, players have tons of time to get it. There are two different sets for Doja Cat in Fortnite, these are:
