Hot on the heels of signing bzm, Tundra Esports has dropped another bombshell with the announcement of Nightfall’s departure 24 hours before the new year.
According to the organization’s official Twitter page, the team ultimately agreed to move forward without the 22-year-old, as he has been moved to the inactive roster and is seeking a new home. This surprising move comes despite Nightfall’s stellar performance, currently ranked number one in the European leaderboards.

Tundra Esports recruited the Russian carry player in October 2024 after he departed from the BetBoom Team. With the new promising roster, Nightfall contributed to the team’s second place finishes at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 and BLAST Slam I. However, I’ll admit that Nightfall displayed several inconsistencies, especially in high stakes matches such as the Grand Finals.
While the reasoning behind the team’s decision remains unclear, it appears team captain 33 wants nothing short of gold, as he is making massive changes to the roster despite the previous iteration showing promising signs.
Though Nightfall’s capabilities as a carry player are nothing to doubt, I’m worried if he’ll land a spot in a top-tier team, given that most lineups are almost locked ahead of the 2025 season. The timing for this benching could not be any worse for the released player.

To combat the drought of first-place finishes, Tundra Esports recruited former Gaimin Gladiators carry dyrachyo to join its ranks.
The updated Tundra Esports roster includes the following members:
Dyrachyo had just returned to the Dota 2 scene after a two-month hiatus after being dropped by the Gaimin Gladiators. The Russian carry caught a lot of flak after being released from his former team, with critics questioning his ability to perform at the highest level. However, with the team’s noticeable decline over the past few months, dyrachyo might have been right all along, and team captain 33 is not scared to take the gamble by recruiting him.

Considering Tundra Esports’ playstyle, primarily focused on winning lanes and snowballing the game with any advantage they build, dyrachyo seems like a very logical fit for the team. Though some fans might consider Nightfall a better player mechanically, it is undeniable that dyrachyo has won more tournaments during his time as a professional. Hence, the experience factor is certainly there.
I’m extremely excited to see how the new iteration of Tundra Esports plays out, as they have elite players in every single role. Their lineup of players specializes in the laning stage, and I see this duo of dyrachyo and Whitemon winning 90% of lanes they face up against. However, a huge concern I have is that dyrachyo has only recorded a single pub match in the past eight days, so he’ll have to do some grinding right as the new year begins.
We’ll see the new version of Tundra Esports make its debut at the Western European qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 25, which is set to run from January 9 to 11.
