Well, those BetBoom Dacha Belgrade grand finals games certainly added up to a slugfest between Team Falcons and Tundra Esports. The championship match that decided who would hoist the trophy and go home with $300,000 in prize money went to all five games, with the last map even reaching an entire 72 minutes and 48 seconds.
But it was Falcons that won the day this time around. Left reeling from their defeat at the hands of Heroic at PGL Wallachia Season 2, team captain Wu “Sneyking” Jingjun and the rest of the squad must have vowed to each other that they would at least scratch and claw for a first place finish at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade.
And that’s exactly what they did, scrapping to the finish line even after Tundra held a 2-1 lead over them in the series. Sensing that they just could not allow Neta “33” Shapira to get his hands on Beastmaster after such a huge performance by him on the hero in game 1, Falcons adjusted by constantly banning it in the first phase alongside his signature Visage.
This was the most hard fought finals in my career. So happy, high of the feeling and most importantly proud of myself and my teammates for going through that game 5 and making the impossible happen

This limited his impact greatly going forward in the series, as he was forced to pick Broodmother and Enigma instead of his comfort heroes. Falcons exploited this well even after Tundra won game 3 with 33 playing Broodmother, by focusing more on his teammates in order to create openings for themselves.
True enough, they held 33 to just five kills in total between games 4 and 5. And though it took them more than an hour to finally finish Tundra off in the final game, things weren’t ever truly in doubt as Falcons kept their small net worth lead the whole way through. In the end, Tundra just didn’t have enough left in the tank to follow through on their initial advantage in the series.
Given that both Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators were eliminated from BetBoom Dacha Belgrade very early in the playoffs, Team Falcons had just one hurdle to get past in order to bring themselves back up to the top of the Dota 2 food chain — that of course being Tundra Esports.
And now that they’ve exacted revenge on them for knocking them out of The International 2024, Falcons can set their sights on keeping their status from last year as the most dominant club of the season. There truly is far too much talent on this roster for them to settle with second or third place finishes at major tournaments, so this win is a step in the right direction towards their recovery.

Of course, there is no shame in losing to such a stacked team, least of all for Tundra whose immediate future looks just as bright as they led all of us to believe it would be at TI13. We definitely haven’t seen the last of them yet, especially since both they and Falcons will play in the same group at DreamLeague Season 24.
Imagine that: they don’t even get a few days’ rest before they have to face each other again. This upcoming grudge match between them is sure to be fiery.
