Valve has released the list of all the teams directly invited to The International this year and there are no surprises here. This list includes every team we’ve seen dominating the entire Dota 2 calendar throughout the 2024-2025 season.
Team | Region |
All Gamers Global | China |
Team Spirit | EEU |
Team Liquid | WEU |
BetBoom | EEU |
Falcons | MENA |
Gaimin Gladiators | WEU |
PARIVISION | EEU |
Tundra Esports | WEU |
It’s also not surprising, if slightly disappointing that so many on the list are from Europe. Europe has won every single iteration of The International since Wings Gaming lifted the Aegis back in 2017 and with no sign of slowing down, it just doesn’t seem like any other regions are going to be able to keep up. Even though 6 European teams have qualified already, they also have 3 slots to be earned at the regional qualifiers.
This means the regional breakdown will be:
Now that Team Tidebound has officially been acquired by All Gamers, perhaps we’ll get to see them make an even deeper run at TI. They’ve been edging closer throughout the year but the EU meta has often held the Chinese team back.
Of course, even with these 8 teams being invited, there are still 8 more slots earned via regional qualifiers. In their blog, Valve also confirmed all the dates for all of the regions:
Regions | Dates |
Eastern Europe and South America | June 4th – 8th |
China and North America | June 9th – 12th |
Southeast Asia and Western Europe | June 13th – 17th |
Teams will have to go through all of these trials and tribulations before they even step foot in Hamburg, Germany.
Ok, I think I’ve been at the copium but after the success of Crownfall, I’m really hoping for something great for TI 2025. It might not be a battle pass, and let’s face it, it’s very unlikely to be, but another in-game event of a similar calibre would go down a storm.
One known for being the biggest prize pool in esports, The International prize has fallen off a cliff over the last few years. That kind of growth was never sustainable but I would love to see the teams earn what they deserve after a year like 2025, where they have been playing near enough nonstop since the last TI.
Valve recently gave us a sneak peak behind the scenes of Crownfall and it’s clear just how much work goes into it but surely Gaben has something up his sleeve. Give the people what they want, bring back Aghanim’s Labyrinth!
And stay up to date on all the latest trends in esports
