After its initial stint in Seattle, USA, The International has famously moved around all over the world, giving fans an opportunity to be a part of Dota 2 history.
During the break between the lower bracket finals and the grand finals at TI here in Hamburg, Germany, Gaben graced us with his presence via a brief video message to inform us that The International 15 will take place in Shanghai, China for the first time 2019.
Historically, China has been an insanely strong region in Dota but that hasn’t been the case for the last few years during the years of Europe’s domination on the main stage.
That being said, the Chinese fans always show up in force to support their teams. There’s still a long way to go on this grand finals day at The International 14 and it seems like Chinese Dota may indeed be so back after XG Gaming took down PARIVISION in the lower bracket final. This TI has really felt like a proper TI with some absolutely stunning matches on display.
With the best of 5 still to come, it’s almost impossible to guess who is going to win it all and lift this historic Aegis but for the sake of my predictions, I hope it’s XG.
And stay up to date on all the latest trends in esports
