The BLAST Rivals Hong Kong 2025 Groups are finished, with paiN Gaming and Spirit rounding out the Playoffs. In the end, it was The MongolZ and TYLOO who faced disappointment, leaving us with very few surprises on the day.

Coming into this match, Team Spirit hadn’t looked in the best of form. Following a 2:0 defeat to Falcons, even donk looked as though he was having some individual struggles. But here, Team Spirit hardly had to touch greatness to put away a meek MongolZ lineup in 2:0 fashion.

The concern for The MongolZ is clear. Against Team Spirit, they can hardly blame their stand-in controlez. In fact, with a 1.25 rating, he was the only player who showed up on the day, with every other player putting up a sub-1.0 rating. Rough. There’s something systematically wrong with The MongolZ at the moment, and if they’re to make any real dent at the Major, they’ll have to sort things out in the practice room, with no more events to play.

For now, Team Spirit advance to the Playoffs of BLAST Rivals Hong Kong 2025, staying alive to fight another day. But if they’re to win this event, more improvements are still needed.

paiN Gaming overcome resilient TYLOO

The final Playoff spot at BLAST Rivals Hong Kong 2025 was locked down by paiN Gaming, who were made to sweat by a resilient TYLOO. Both teams managed to secure their own map picks, but it was paiN who edged out a 13:10 Overpass decider to finish up the series 2:1.

For paiN Gaming, this was a real team effort. No one was left lagging behind in the kills department, and everyone played their role in seeing this series out. On the other side of the server, it was only really JamYoung and Mercury who showed up for TYLOO, with Jee in particular struggling to get going.

TYLOO, now eliminated from BLAST Rivals Hong Kong, will feel frustrated that they weren’t able to see out the clash against Vitality yesterday. However, they can have no complaints about today’s loss. Meanwhile, this represents another solid outing for paiN Gaming, and there’s still a chance to get even more confidence under their belt ahead of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025.

The BLAST Rivals Hong Kong 2025 Quarter-Finals matches are set, and are as follows:

  • Passion UA vs. paiN Gaming
  • Spirit vs. Vitality
