FURIA have bested Falcons 3:1 to secure the victory at BLAST Rivals Hong Kong 2025, cementing a third consecutive trophy in the process. In doing so, FURIA have cemented themselves as the best CS2 team in the world right now, and appear to be the team to beat heading into the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025.

FURIA need four maps to beat Falcons

After losing the opening map, their pick of Inferno, while also losing Overpass in the veto, you had to wonder if FURIA really could beat Falcons here. All signs pointed to it being a struggle, that’s for sure. But a quick bounce-back on Nuke and consecutive double Overtimes on Train and Mirage ensured FURIA still found the right formula to take down Falcons. Ultimately, a two-round swing in both regulations would have seen this one go Falcons’ way, but that’s just Counter-Strike sometimes. Fine margins.

Although KSCERATO enjoyed a quieter BLAST Rivals Hong Kong 2025 Final than he would have liked, his impact is undeniable. An absurd 1v4 in regulation gave FURIA the boost they needed to take the last map to Overtime, just keeping them in the fight long enough to get going.

But for sheer quantity, you can’t look past YEKINDAR and molodoy, the pair notching up 89 and 88 kills respectively. The duo each managed over 30 on the final map of Mirage. This is what difference-makers look like on the server.

And if we’re talking about difference-makers in another light, it’s difficult to look past NiKo‘s Mirage. He finished with 13 kills across 35 rounds, but even that feels generous given how he started the match. Just a little more impact, and we would have surely seen a fifth map here.

Falcons can’t keep composure to avoid fifth map

And really, a fifth map should have been a given. In the first Overtime on Mirage, Falcons were able to put down a perfect CT-side to take a 15:12 lead. But unfortunately for them, they were met with an equally flawless defensive half from FURIA, tying the game up once more. With the decider in sight, it really felt as though Falcons lost their heads, instantly forgetting everything they’d learned during their five-round T-side haul in regulation.

It wasn’t the most egregious head-loss we’ve seen from Falcons, but it’s one that’s sure to sting. Losing the BLAST Rivals Hong Kong 2025 Final in five maps would have been frustrating, but not even taking it that far somehow feels worse.

But for Falcons, this isn’t really the big one. That’s at the StarLadder Budapest Major, which is now just around the corner. If this loss spurs them on to a Major win, then they wouldn’t swap it for anything. Whether that can happen is another matter entirely.
