The Skeleton Knife is one of the most underrated knives in CS2. It doesn’t quite have the popularity of a Karambit or Butterfly Knife, but its unique appearance and custom animations make it a sleeper choice. Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem patterns are available for this knife, which are very popular with CS2 collectors. If you’re not in the know, a Blue Gem is a Case Hardened knife with a significant amount of blue on the skin, which is determined by the randomly assigned pattern.

What’s important here is the play side, AKA, the side you see during regular gameplay. This is NOT the side you see when you inspect the knife. If you’re curious to know more, I’ve got all the information about CS2 Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem patterns and Tiers below.

Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem Tier 0 Pattern: 403

The Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem in pattern 403 is considered to be the best in class overall. Almost the entire play side of this CS2 knife is covered in a near-perfect blue, which is why the community has always hailed this as the best Blue Gem pattern for Case Hardened Skeleton Knives. This comes at a very, very high cost, though.

For most players, Tier 1 Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem Patterns will be more than adequate. These six options are all very similar to the 403, so you won’t notice too much difference in the amount of blue here. Of all the Case Hardened knives in CS2, there’s an argument to be made that the Skeleton Knife has the best Tier 1 options.

  • Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem Tier 1 Patterns: 58, 169, 316, 456, 577, 681

Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem Tier 2 Patterns

Tier 2 Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem patterns are where you’ll start to notice a fair amount of gold creeping into the blue. Again, though, Tier 2 patterns will still be majority blue, and it’s also where you should start to notice the price really coming down.

  • Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem Tier 2 Patterns: 55, 180, 210, 262, 281, 345, 351, 447, 449, 556, 583, 668, 704, 850, 880, 922

With the Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem Tier 3 patterns, the split between blue and gold starts to become fairly even. However, the contrast between the two is really interesting, resulting in some very unique patterns in their own right.

  • Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem Tier 3 Patterns: 14, 67, 103, 116, 124, 157, 166, 170, 187, 202, 239, 294, 336, 372, 383, 429, 442, 496, 503, 516, 525, 529, 533, 547, 585, 588, 601, 624, 628, 632, 634, 698, 700, 797, 837, 915, 916, 954

The Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem patterns in the Tier 4 bracket are here on a technicality. There’s enough blue to technically count as a Blue Gem pattern, but there’s still a serious amount of gold here. As a result, the Tier 4 Skeleton Knife Blue Gem patterns shouldn’t cost too much more than a regular Case Hardened.

  • Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem Tier 4 Patterns: 10, 13, 84, 88, 91, 107, 151, 162, 176, 179, 203, 212, 222, 227, 235, 241, 269, 286, 288, 292, 298, 299, 325, 334, 349, 374, 387, 393, 417, 430, 504, 507, 519, 537, 606, 619, 640, 651, 669, 675, 680, 689, 693, 715, 719, 740, 750, 776, 805, 807, 812, 818, 820, 821, 828, 853, 866, 867, 872, 878, 879, 887, 899, 902, 910, 911, 941, 955, 959

What CS2 case drops a Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem?

The Skeleton Knife Case Hardened drops in two CS2 cases: the Fracture Case and the Shattered Web Case. However, both of these cases also offer other knives, so even if you do get a gold,  there’s no guarantee it’ll be a Skeleton Knife Case Hardened.

Why is the Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem so rare in CS2?

The odds are unbelievably stacked against you getting one. The odds of getting a knife in a case are already 0.26%, which is just the first hurdle. Then, both the Fracture Case and the Shattered Web Case have 52 knife skins in total. Assuming they’re distributed at equal odds, the chance of ensuring it’s Case Hardened is another 1/52 chance to throw into the mix. That’s before we even get to the odds of it being a Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem pattern! Of the 1,000 patterns, just 130 of them are considered Blue Gems of various Tiers. That’s another 13/100 chance right there. All of this combined makes it nearly impossible to get a Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem knife drop.

What is the best CS2 Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem pattern?

The best CS2 Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem pattern is generally considered to be 403.

How much does a Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem cost?

The price of CS2 Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem depends entirely on the Tier. For example, a look at CSFloat at the time of writing shows the only for-sale 403 as being a $91,500 Field-Tested knife. However, examining a Tier 4 pattern like 10 reveals a price more in the $600 range, indicating a massive discrepancy if you’re willing to compromise on the Tier.

How many Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem tiers are there?

There are four Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem Tiers in total. However, the 403 exists outside of this system, so it depends on whether you consider that to be in its own official “Tier.”

How do I know if my Skeleton Knife Case Hardened is a Blue Gem?

Take a look at the play side of your Skeleton Knife Case Hardened. If it has a big chunk of blue across the front, then there’s a solid chance you’re the proud owner of a CS2 Blue Gem knife. However, if you want to know for sure, inspect the weapon in your CS2 inventory and look for the small I icon at the bottom of your screen. You’ll see a variable named Pattern Template – the number that follows this is the pattern. Check to see if yours matches any of the patterns listed in the above Tiers to find out if your Case Hardened knife is a rare Blue Gem.

How does float value affect Blue Gem Skeleton Knives?

The float value changes the wear rating (so, whether a skin is Factory New, Minimal Wear, etc.). This then affects the price, massively so in some cases. If you have a Factory New Skeleton Knife Case Hardened Blue Gem in CS2, it’s going to be worth a lot more than one in Battle-Scarred.
