The new CS2 Spring Forward update is here, bringing yet another skin-focused update to the game. Now, you can complain all you want about the distinct lack of gameplay changes, but there’s no denying that the latest CS2 skin drop has brought some awesome new options to the table.
I’m going to highlight my 10 favorite skins from the new CS2 update – do you think I’ve got it right?
The new CS2 update brings multiple AK skins into the game, but none better than the AK-47 Nouveau Rouge. It’s stylish, classical, almost, with a white and deep maroon color scheme divided by gold highlights. It stands alone as one of the most unique AK-47 skins in CS2, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
The AWP LongDog is a fun tribute to the new position name on the CS2 version of Train. Despite a fun design, it’s still a pretty clean skin, with some interesting artistic elements to boot. If it’s reasonably priced, I could see the AWP LongDog being one of the most used skins from the new CS2 update.
This is the big one – the one gamers have been waiting for: the AWP Printstream. The Printstream skin series has long been one of the most popular throughout CS:GO and CS2, with versions available on the USP-S, Desert Eagle, and M4A1-S. Now it’s come for the AWP, and it looks every bit as awesome as you can imagine. This is perhaps the biggest treat in the new CS2 update.
The FAMAS Bad Trip almost looks like it belongs to the Overpass Collection, which released a short while back. It’s a very busy skin, which are always very polarizing in the community. However, this one’s a winner for me. I wouldn’t even want to put any stickers on it – I wouldn’t want to ruin the amazing artwork featured on the FAMAS Bad Trip.
There are several Glock skins in the new CS2 update. However, the Glock-18 Green Line is my personal favorite. I’ve always had a soft spot for green CS2 skins, and this one is no exception. It’s exceptionally creative, using the grooves on the Glock to make it look like a train. A must-have in my books.
One word comes to mind when I look at the M4A1-S Glitched Paint: texture. This CS2 skin has absolutely tons of it, looking like the paint was applied and scratched directly onto the weapon. I haven’t tried any crafts yet, but I’ve got a feeling we’ll see plenty of subtle crafts to improve this skin even further.
Another highlight from the Train 2025 collection, the MAC-10 Derailment is an artistic joy to behold. I think it’s great to see Valve embrace more of these hand-drawn style skins, and this effort might be one of the best yet. I’ve never really settled on a favorite MAC-10 skin, so I’ll definitely be trying this one from the new CS2 update to see if it has staying power.
The UMP-45 Late Night Transit is a very clever sequel to the SSG 08 Rapid Transit, utilizing a dark background to the previous version’s white. The clever concept is the exact same, though, with the stops on the transit line each representing a different map from Counter-Strike’s history. I hope Valve keep releasing different variations of this for different weapons, because it’s a winner, for sure.
Last but not least, there’s the USP-S Royal Guard. Sometimes, less is more, and that’s exactly what you see here. Blue and gold is always a classic combination, so it makes sense that this clean skin is a big highlight of the new CS2 update. Having recently sold my USP-S skins, I’ll be grabbing this one as soon as they become widely available.
