You can already unlock Void Elf Demon Hunters in the Midnight, thanks to a workaround.

How to Unlock Void Elf Demon Hunters in the Midnight

Void Elf Demon Hunters are new with the Midnight expansion, but we can get access to them early in the pre-patch with a few simple steps. As a result, if you want to swap to the new race in time for Midnight to release in World of Warcraft, then you’ves till got plenty of time to do so.

Demon Hunters have been in the game since Legion, and since then have been limited to just Night Elves on the Alliance and Blood Elves on the Horde. With Midnight that’s changing, with Void Elves (or Alliance Blood Elves) now having them as an option.

How to Unlock Void Elf Demon Hunters

Starting with the Midnight pre-patch, which is live now, players can start unlocking and playing Void Elf Demon Hunters. This will also give you access to the new Devourer specialization which is being added with Demon Hunter in Midnight. The unlock process is simple, with just a few steps required to unlock it. You might need to do a few steps first, however.

Before you can start the quest, you’ll need to do the following: Complete the In Search of Darkness storyline from the K’aresh zone. This starts with the quest A Common Cause and ends with Hunger of the Void. Once those are done, you can start the new quests added in the Midnight pre-patch.

Once that’s done, we can start the quest and get closer to unlock Void Elf in Demon Hunters. We’ll need to head to Dornogal and pick up the quest The Pursuit Continues. This quest will have us find Leona and Allari in K’aresh. The quest chain ends with the Trial of Wrath. The final quest is a simple kill person X to complete. Once you do, you’ll get the reward Rage of the Ren’dorei, which is the achievement that grants you access to the new race/class combo.

As for Horde players, for now, you’ll have to watch all your Alliance friends enjoy the new race combo for the Demon Hunter. However, Blizzard has stated that they are always open to new options for classes and races in the future. For this, it just seems to make sense to open up Demon Hunter to the void race, given the new Demon Hunter specilization is a void one.
