After a clearcut victory over hometown favorites Ninetails at the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2025 in Seoul, Hotspawn sat down with MIBR’s lissa for an in-depth conversation about her year with MIBR, her goals, and the long road from Brazil to the world stage.

Despite a roaring Korean crowd backing the local team, MIBR silenced the arena with a confident, composed performance with a dominant 2-0. For lissa, it was personal and a sign of even bigger things to come.

Hotspawn: Congratulations on the win.

How are you feeling today after that?

Lissa: Yeah, I’m feeling very happy and confident.

Hotspawn: A lot of the crowd were cheering for Ninetails since it’s their home team.

Did you ever feel pressure hearing them cheer for the opponents more than you?

Lissa: Actually, I think we’re used to it. Not just me, all of my team. Because in Brazil, whenever we play in LAN, I think most of the cheering goes to Team Liquid. So, yeah, we’ve kind of shut everyone up, basically.

Hotspawn: You’ve been playing since 2021 and even had a stint with LOUD before joining MIBR in June.

What was the process behind that move?

Lissa: In the start of this year, I was in a team that had some org problems, so I had to leave. But in terms of joining MIBR, I actually didn’t know it was gonna be possible. Like, it was a surprise even for me.

And the process after joining the team was very hard too, because I’ve never played with such good players and they are also very different, every one. So it’s very hard adapting and joining this team in general.

Hotspawn: You and bstrdd joined together. What have you done for team bonding?

Lissa: Oh, I do everything. We shop together. I’m like bstrdd’s number one fan. You can see by my profile picture on Twitter. She’s my ‘it girl.’ And for the rest of the team, I think they’re just very easy to get along with. So, yeah, that’s it. Very, very natural.

Hotspawn: So how does it feel to be on the same team as your icon?

Lissa: Did you know, whenever I started, I cheered for Liquid… I was a Liquid girl.

Hotspawn: And now you get to play with her. That must be so cool for you.

Lissa: So, so cool. She’s my idol.

Hotspawn: Your previous game with Shopify was a tough loss, but you bounced back strong today.

What changed?

Lissa: I think we talked a lot about posture and confidence and everything related to this. I think we can show the best game, better than today, better than every day that we’ve played because everyone in our team is very good. So, yeah, we just have to know how to apply this in the matches.

Hotspawn: Because LCQ was on the old patch and GCC is on the new one, how has adapting felt?

Lissa: Yeah, adapting to the meta was weird for us because we tried a few things and I think we didn’t have time to actually know what’s best for us. But we are trying  during the Championship and I think it’s going great… we didn’t actually have the chance to do it before, to actually prepare.”

Hotspawn: So you’re preparing on the fly right now?

Lissa: Yeah.

Hotspawn: What does an average day of practice look like for you?

Lissa: We just talk a lot. Like, a lot, a lot of talks. Talk about the meta, talk about the team in general, posture, in the game, outside the game. We talk about everything. And in the scrims, we try to apply everything that we talked about. Basically, we adapt to match the game time. So if it’s later, we practice later as well.”

Hotspawn: Name your two biggest opponents on your path to the trophy.

I know one is gonna be Team Liquid, so which is the other team?

Lissa: Shopify.

Hotspawn: Do you think Shopify can get the three-peat, or will you stop them?

Lissa: We’re definitely gonna stop everyone. You guys had no idea, we’re cooking. I told you that in the tweet. We’re cooking. Just relax. You guys are gonna see it.

Hotspawn: You’ve gone viral lately.

What’s that been like?

Lissa: I’ve never experienced this, so it’s kind of, ‘Oh my God, what is happening?’ I’m just so, so happy… people are actually interested in natural me because I don’t do this stuff to pose. I’m actually like this — kind of weird.

So, yeah, I just feel happy. And confident with myself too, because I’m being myself. If I could transmit this to everyone: just be yourself. I wasn’t before. And now that I am, people like it so much more… I’m grateful.

Hotspawn: What is your ultimate goal in Valorant?

Lissa: Winning Champs. And I don’t mean GC, I mean Champs. GC is just like a starting point. If I focus and do my best, I think I can join the leagues as well and win, hopefully.
