The biggest event in competitive fighting games right now is the Capcom Cup, and this year’s tournament is going to be huge. Throughout 2025, we’ve seen international tournaments happening as players try to secure their slots. To make the cut as one of the Capcom Cup 12 players attending this final is an achievement on its own, but there’s a huge prize for the winner.
Ever since Street Fighter 6 released, Capcom has pushed the boat out for the Pro Tour. It’s had a jump in size. Both for the number of players trying to compete and the scale of the tournament. While the individual events leading up aren’t very different, the Capcom Cup 12 is going to be big. This tournament features a huge prize pool of over $1.2 million. Which has made this one of the biggest esports events.
To qualify, players have to prove they’re among the best fighting game competitors players in the world. Only a small handful from each region have made this list. These are all of the Capcom Cup 12 players who have qualified so far:
The Capcom Cup 12 will feature 48 players, opening with a wider group stage which will knock a decent number of them out quickly. Then, it’ll eventually whittle things down to a single elimination bracket as we find the next champion. However, even making the 48 player cut off qualifies them as one of the best Street Fighter 6 players in the world.
So far, we’ve seen players locked in rom a ton of different events. There’s everyone who got their way here from major tournaments like EVO. There’s been a bit of a convoluted route to a player getting their slot from the last Capcom Cup. Not to mention the World Warrior tournaments
These are all of the qualified Capcom Cup 12players so far and how they got here:

There are some more Capcom Cup 12 players to come. We still have some events to wrap up. Although, the in-person tournaments have now concluded. The players we’ve seen performing in LANs like EVO and the EWC are locked in. At least the qualifiers haven’t gone pay per view yet, even if the Capcom Cup finals have.
There are still chances or players to earn their slot though. A few regions have the finals still to come for their events. We’ve also had a few complicated changes to the qualified players. There’s one name missing from the Capcom Cup 12 players.
One big asterisk in the Capcom Cup 12 players is Kakeru. The champion of the Capcom Cup 11, but health issues have meant he has had to step away from Street Fighter 6 esports for a while. With Kakeru pausing his competitive play, there’s no defending champion this year. There is still a slot in the current Capcom Cup for one though.
It’ll be a shame not to see him return for the next Capcom Cup, but it does mean the slot rolls down. This time it’s all the way down to AngryBird, who came in 4th.
Along with the Capcom Cup 12 players who already have their slots, there’s a handful more still coming in the Capcom Pro Tour. Regions that haven’t finished things up just yet. These are the tournaments still to come before we get our final roster for the finals. Mainly finals, but a couple of regions still have heats.
This current schedule means we won’t know the last of the Capcom Cup 12 players until February! Every region other than Japan will lock things in this year though. There’s very little playing even after November. Soon, we’ll know all of the Capcom Cup 12 players once these final regional events conclude.
