Street Fighter 6

Guilty Gear Strive

While other series get new titles all the time, Strive just keeps on giving. It’s once again taking center stage at EVO. This time there’s a €16,501 prize pool. It’s also a Platinum+ tier event for the Arc World Tour 2025-26.

Tekken 8

A new Tekken 8 tournament is also happening at EVO France. This event’s prize pool is €18,481. It also carries a ton of Tekken World Tour points. Being of the biggest European events.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising

Another Arc game is getting a main stage event, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising. This one is also part of the World Tour and has just under 500 sign ups. There’s €15,000 at stake in this event.

Fatal Fury City of the Wolves

One of the newest games at EVO France is Fatal Fury! This is part of the SWC, with a player moving straight through to the final. Fatal Fury is fresher but it’s been an exciting addition to the world of fighting game esports. There’s also €13,000 in prize money.

The last Arc game at the tournament, ighterZ is still making the main event! The prize pool and registrants are a bit lower for this older game, only a bit over 200 players. But there’s still €7,000 in prize money. FighterZ is on the older side and doesn’t receive updates anymore, so this is still an impressive turn out.

HunterXHunter NENXIMPACT

Another new game that’s just made the mainstage is HunterXHunter. This game also has €7,000 in prize money and a bit over 100 players are taking part.

Side Tournaments at EVO France 2025

Alongside those mainline games, they’ll be a number of side tournaments. These have a lower prize pool. But it’s a great chance to see some lesser played games played by some of the top players. Classic games and upcoming titles like 2XKO are all coming.

  • 2XKO
  • Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
  • Super Street Fighter II Turbo
  • Vampire Savior
  • Melty Blood: Actress Again Current Code

Format

How will the tournaments at EVO France work? For the mainline events, they’ll each follow a familiar format. Things start with a Pools round, an open event where everyone from the best fighting game players to new participants go head-to-head. This narrows down until we begin the proper bracket. This is typically played in a double elimination format, with players getting knocked out for losses moving to the lower bracket. With one more shot to run through to the finals.

That’s all before we eventually get a longer winners’ final to decide who the new champion for EVO France will be.

Each tournament gets both rounds. Although, the side tournaments are smaller. Typically, the main broadcast will just focus on the bracket for each game. However, with other broadcasts we can sometimes follow along with the pools round too!

How to Watch EVO France

EVO France 2025 will all be happening in Nice, but if you can’t make it then you can follow along at home. The top brackets of all the major tournaments should be broadcast. These will be on the EVO channels. Although, the circuit events are typically broadcast on their own channels too. Like Capcom Fighters for Street Fighter.

If you’re more interested in seeing everything, then there’s still the main broadcast! The last two EVO events have both been highlights for each of the games featured. It’ll be our biggest fighting game event since the Esports World Cup too. If you want to stay on top of who the top competitors are before the circuit finals early next year, EVO France will be a much watch.
