Selangor Red Giants OG Esports (SRG.OG) reaffirmed their legacy in Malaysian MLBB with a commanding 4–0 sweep in the MPL MY S16.
Closing out the MPL Malaysia Season 16 Grand Finals. They delivered a performance defined by perfection and an unshakable composure on the biggest stage of the season to bag their historic 4-peat championship in MPL Malaysia.
CG Esports entered the arena as the league’s breakthrough story. They were a team, composed of veterans and rookies that stormed into MPL MY from the MLBB Academy League and the regular season. Their explosive early-game style, fearless dives, and mechanical prowess made them Malaysia’s most unpredictable challenger. Especially having the legendary Malaysian player, Cikugais, in their roster.
But against the reigning kings of MPL MY, CG’s firepower wasn’t enough. From the moment the series began, SRG.OG demonstrated a level of discipline and structure that simply could not be broken.

SRG.OG opened the series with a very early lead to the series but CG Esports surprised them with a potential comeback after SRG.OG made a mistake midgame. Their rookie Gold Laner, Amzziq used Natan, which is a late game specialist, to try and bounce back to the game. Through the near end of the game, CG Esports had the gold lead as well as pressuring SRG.OG in the map. It only took one lord fight and one remarkable play by SRG.OG’s EXP Laner Kramm to find them the opportunity to win the game.
Kramm made a 200 IQ play where he predicted the Natan to ult back to his original position, where Kramm’s Lapu-Lapu initiated in that area to burst him down. Without their carry in sight, SRG.OG pushed with the Lord to bag them the first win of the day.
It was the closest CG Esports got in the MPL MY S16.
Game 2 belonged entirely to SRG.OG’s jungle-mid duo, Sekyss and Stormie.
Given a comfort assassin, the SRG.OG jungler unleashed his most dominant game of the season using Hayabusa. From early invades to isolating CG’s gold laner in every skirmish, Sekyss dictated the entire tempo of the match. Alongside him was Stormie setting him up for success with his devastating arrows that stunned CG Esports, in-game and in real life.
A brilliant flank near the Turtle pit cracked the game wide open. Once SRG.OG secured a four-for-one trade, they marched straight down mid to close the game in under 15 minutes, putting the reigning champions up 2–0.
With momentum fully in their favor in the MPL MY S16, SRG.OG’s map control reached suffocating levels in Game 3. Showcasing why they’re one of the best MLBB teams. All bases covered SRG.OG only dropped a single tower on the top lane throughout the entire game. SRG.OG didn’t let CG Esports breathe a single second with constant push pressure, allowing them to snowball the entire game.
The defending champions denied multiple buffs, starved CG’s jungler, and forced every fight on their own terms. By the 13-minute mark, CG had no space left on the map. Another swift win for SRG.OG, pushing to match point at 3–0.
In the final game, CG Esports tried so hard to bounce back with every kill they got off of SRG.OG. They lead the kill score, however they lost heavily in terms of macro play. SRG.OG just played with the confidence of a team one step away from history. Their execution was crisp, their teamfighting clean, and their objective control flawless.
A decisive engage near the top river secured the final Lord of the night. Moments later, SRG.OG marched into CG’s base, destroyed the crystal, and completed the 4–0 sweep in front of a roaring crowd.
Sekyss was awarded the Finals MVP for MPL MY S16. Giving him his first ever regional FMVP title, cementing his status as one of the region’s premier junglers.

CG Esports’ run from academy to Grand Finals will be remembered as one of the great underdog stories in MPL MY history. But Season 16 belonged to the champions for the 4th time. They are on their way to attempt to obtain their final missing trophy in M7 MLBB World Championship.
With this sweep, SRG.OG add another trophy to their growing dynasty, proving once more why the crown remains firmly in Selangor Red Giants OG Esports.
