July 2025: Esports World Cup Takes Center Stage
The Mid-Season Cup 2025 (MSC 2025) was an amazing outcome for Mobile Legends esports so far this year. Held during the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the tournament featured a $3 million prize pool, making it one of the biggest events in MLBB history.

- Knockout Stage & Grand Finals: July 30–August 2
In a heated final, Team Liquid PH toppled Selangor Red Giants OG Esports with a 4–1 victory. Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya secured the MVP award, cementing his place as one of the top players in the world. This also cemented the last title most of these players were lacking, especially the now officially proclaimed Greatest of All Time in MLBB, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno.
This creates Team Liquid PH’s Golden Road opportunity if they win their regional season (MPL PH S16) and the M7 World Championship at the end of the year. No one has ever achieved such a feat, as ONIC Indonesia was the closest to getting it, with literally 1 game away during 2023. Falcons AP Bren won the M5 World Championship against them with a score of 4-3, making the golden road yet another achievement to chase.
Alongside MSC, the MLBB Women’s Invitational 2025 (July 15–19) showcased the rising prominence of women’s esports. Team Vitality emerged champions after a thrilling final against Gaimin Gladiators. They were the ones to claim the first-ever golden road in MLBB esports, as they have claimed every single title for the Women’s League.
August 2025: Regional Leagues and New Ground
With the international spotlight dimmed after Riyadh, August shifted focus to regional circuits.
MDL LATAM Season 1 Invitational (August 10–September 5)
Latin America hosts its first official MDL invitational, giving fresh talent the opportunity to step onto their own regional radar. This propels an opportunity for grassroots teams to test out their skills within their region and an opportunity to compete for a spot in the international scene.
MDL Philippines and Indonesia
The scouting grounds of the strongest regions in the world, where newly acquired talents are showcased. MDL Philippines’ ONIC Nine Lives won last season, and they are now acquired by an MPL team by the name of Twisted Minds. For MDL Indonesia, Alter Ego X won their season, giving Yazukee a trial spot for Alter Ego’s main roster in the MPL.
MPL Philippines and Indonesia Season 16
Two of the most competitive domestic leagues resume with crucial matchdays starting from August 22–31. Another season for teams to prove they are the strongest in the strongest region in the world.
September–October 2025: More Regional Leagues and Qualifiers
The late third quarter belongs to MPL regional leagues and other regional qualifiers for the M7 World Championship. Multiple regions, including Malaysia, Cambodia, Singapore, LATAM, and MENA, are running their own domestic competitions. Alongside these regions are Myanmar, Vietnam, Türkiye, and EECA, where some teams of the top 8 in MSC reside.
November–December 2025: The Road to M7
Regional MPL winners and M7 qualifiers will likely transition into the global circuit, where they will compete for a chance to lift the most prestigious trophy in Mobile Legends esports.
