Shortly after the series ended against MKOI at the EWC, we got to chat with T1 Oner on whether he has been hitting the gym and if he prefers to carry weights or carry his team.

T1 Oner: “Today’s match was a bit frustrating at times, but I’m glad we managed to get the win..”

T1 Oner – carrying weights in the gym and on stage

As a jungle player myself, I’ve always had a slight bias towards professional junglers. As the backbone of the team over the past three years, my appreciation for Oner has gone up significantly. Moreover, the guy is a gym lover as well, which gives me additional points in my player rankings.

Below is the transcript of the interview with T1 Oner at the Esports World Cup quarterfinals. The questions and answers were translated from English to Korean.

You’ve just faced MKOI for the first time this season. What were your impressions of them as an opponent?

Oner: Yeah, it was technically our first time meeting, but I already knew a lot of the players on the team, and I’d faced some of them before — so I had a general idea of what to expect going in. Today’s match was a bit frustrating at times, but I’m glad we managed to get the win.

I’ve heard you really enjoy working out. So here’s a question: would you say you’re better at lifting weights or carrying your teammates in-game?

Oner: (Laughs) I like both, honestly. But lifting weights is harder… so I’ll go with carrying my teammates.

What’s your daily workout routine like?

Oner: Well, I haven’t been working out since coming here, but back when I was in Korea, I usually had free time between 4 and 7 p.m. I’d eat, then do about an hour of training consistently every day.

You’ll be facing AG.AL soon. What kind of match are you expecting?

Oner: Yeah, we actually played against each other back at MSI, so I think it’ll be pretty similar this time around. I’m confident we can win — I’m expecting a good match.
