MSI 2025 Teams & Format

A total of 10 teams will qualify for MSI, 2 from each region. The number 1 seed of each of the regions will get a buy-in to the Bracket Stage, while the other 4 teams will start in a play-in stage bracket. As a bonus for being the region that won First Stand, the 2nd seed of the LCK will also be floated to the bracket stage.

The teams making it directly to the bracket stage are:

  1. LCK Seed 1
  2. LCK Seed 2
  3. LPL Split 2 Seed 1
  4. LEC Spring Seed 1
  5. LCP Split 2 Seed 1
  6. LTA North Split 2 Seed 1

For the teams having to play through the play-in qualifier:

  1. LPL Split 2 Seed 2
  2. LEC Spring Seed 2
  3. LTA South Split 2 Seed 1
  4. LCP Split 2 Seed 1

The ten teams at the tournament are:

  • G2 Esports
  • Movistar KOI
  • Gen.G
  • T1
  • Anyone’s Legend
  • BiliBili Gaming
  • FlyQuest
  • CTBC Flying Oyster
  • GAM Esports
  • FURIA

The play-in stage will see the four teams battle it out in a four-team, double-elimination bracket, featuring a Bo5 Fearless draft series. The top two teams will advance to the next stage.

In the Bracket stage, the eight teams will be played in a double-elimination bracket once again. According to the format rules, the teams will be matched based on draw tiers from the First Stand results:

  • Tier 1: LCK #1 , LEC#1
  • Tier 2: LCP #1, LPL#1
  • Tier 3: LTA #1, LCK #2
  • Tier 4: Play-in teams

Additionally, teams from the same region must be placed on opposite sides of the bracket. This will reduce the possible outcomes, and considering the current scenario, the two LCK seeds will be on the opposites side of the bracket, with LTA #1 (FLY) locked with LCK #1 (Gen.G) on one side of the bracket, and LEC #1 (MKOI) with LCK #2 (T1).
