The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF), the tournament organizer behind the Esports World Cup (EWC), has announced a multi-year partnership with Ubisoft Nadeo, bringing Trackmania as one of the game titles featured in the 2026 edition.
The first Trackmania tournament at the EWC will see 32 players compete in a championship format and fight for a major share of the $500,000 prize pool. Players will first compete in a group stage format, with four-player lobbies and using a double elimination format. The top eight players from each group will advance to the playoff stage, with 16 of them advancing to the last single elimination matches that will determine the champion.
Trackmania’s qualification pathway to the EWC 2026 will include an open in-game qualifier, which will offer a direct route to Riyadh. Eight players will qualify through Trackmania’s in-game system, with the full details revealed alongside the game update this month. More details on the schedule and qualification pathways for the EWC tournament will be shared at a later date.
Despite not having a high player base compared to other featured game titles, the game has a solid and dedicated player base, with an average of 3,000 to 4,000 players. In November, the Trackmania World Cup 2025 took place in Paris, France, featuring the top four teams competing for a €18,000 prize pool. On that occasion, the competition was won by French team Solary, dominating Australian squad Jetlag Racing.
Trackmania marks the 24th and last game title featured in this year’s EWC. Below is the full roster:
“Trackmania has always been one of gaming’s purest level playing fields: same car, same track, no RNG – it is all about precision, memory, and nerve,” said Fabian Scheuermann, Chief Games Officer, Esports World Cup Foundation. “Giving it a truly global esports stage with a world-class production and a significant prize pool is a watershed for a community that’s spent more than two decades shaving thousandths off community-built tracks. Together with Ubisoft Nadeo, we will connect players, from grassroots to pros, to a world final, and turn the invisible drama of splits and ghost replays into an experience anyone can feel, as anyone at home can load the same map and measure the gap for themselves. This is Trackmania stepping into the pinnacle of esports, validating its culture, attracting pro teams, and inviting a new generation to fall in love with competitive racing at its most honest.”
This month, the EWCF is also expected to announce selected teams that are going to be part of the EWCF Club Partner Program, receiving additional funding to sustain its esports operations and marketing initiatives. Currently, the top eight teams from the 2025 Club Championship standings have already been invited into this year’s cohort.
