The Esports World Cup (EWC) LoL tournament is one of the 25 competitions featured at the EWC. The event is held after the end of the Mid-Season Invitational and will feature the top teams from the five major regions competing for the title and a share of the $2 million prize pool.
The EWC LoL tournament will see 12 teams compete for the title. On top of the top teams from each major region (LCK, LPL, LEC, LTA, and LCP), the competition will also have defending world champions T1 and the second seed from LTA North.
The top four from MSI will be immediately placed in the Knockout stage, while the remaining eight teams will be split into two GSL groups. Each match will be a best-of-one, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the following knockout stage.
In the knockout stage, the eight qualified teams will play a single-elimination bracket featuring best-of-three matches in quarterfinals and semifinals and best-of-five in the grand final.
