Even if they were unable to defend their EWC title this year, T1 came with a strong performance against G2 Esports in the third-place match decider. At the end of the series, we had the chance to speak with T1 Faker, who dropped an unexpected bomb for the final’s prediction.

T1 Faker on the EWC Finals prediction: “I would like to bet on AL this time.”

T1 Faker EWC Interview

Below is the transcript of the interview with Faker. The questions and answers were translated from English to Korean.

Update: The response concerning the final prediction has been edited for translation accuracy.

How do you rate Caps’ performance today?

Faker: Caps performed just as I expected, and today’s match was no different.

Do you think EU is closing the gap in terms of level, compared to MSI? You previously said time will heal things…

Faker: Honestly, I think the level of competition at MSI and EWC isn’t that different. Since both are short-term international tournaments, managing form and condition is more important.

Poby is expected to play for FNC. As an EU fan, can you explain to us where his strength are and how do you think he will do in the LEC?

Faker: Poby made his first appearance for T1 a couple of years ago, and back then, you could still see some weaknesses. But now it’s clear he’s worked hard to overcome them. I believe he’ll be able to perform very well once he moves to Europe.

Predictions on the final?

Faker: I think the finals will be really exciting. Gen.G has a higher chance of winning it all because they are MSI winners, but I would like to bet on AL this time.

Faker and the rest of T1 will be heading back to South Korea for LCK Rounds 3-5, the third part of the LCK 2025 season, with their first match being against Gen.G at the T1 Home Ground, the three-day festival held at the Incheon Inspire Arena.
