Nova Series: Prelude – adding more competitions for the women scene

Announced on Wednesday, the Nova Series wants to follow the footsteps set by the League Game Changers: Rising, which is currently underway and will crown its champion at the Paris Games Week at the end of the month.

The inaugural tournament competition will take place between November and December, featuring two qualifiers, each organized across two days.

The Nova Series format

Each qualifier will have a Swiss stage on the first day, with four teams advancing to the following day. The top four will then be placed in a single-elimination, Bo3 bracket, with the top two from each qualifier locking a spot in the Nova Series playoffs. The dates for the qualifiers will be November 8-9, as well as November 15-16.

As a result, four teams will be taking part in the playoff phase, with semifinals played online (Bo3) on November 23. The grand final will instead take place in a studio in Paris on December 6, featuring a Bo5 series.

The Nova Series will be open to all players who identify as women, and are aged 16 or older (non-binary people will be excluded). There will be no residency restrictions and the registration for the two qualifiers will officially close on November 6, 23:59 CET, and November 13, 23:59 CET, respectively.

ZQSD Productions, the tournament organizer, already counts a strong expertise in esports events, having previously worked on Trackmania Cups and ZLAN, and contributed to the setup and management of the LFL, EMEA Masters, and more.
