With Patch 25.13 officially on the live servers, here’s what will be coming in the next update of League of Legends, Patch 25.14.
League of Legends Patch 25.14 – The new Champion is hitting the Rift
Patch 25.13 has been officially released on June 25, and it is going to be the official update used for the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational, as the top 10 teams in the world will be fighting for the first Worlds slot of the season.
Now that Riot has returned from their annual July 4 holidays, Riot Phroxzon has detailed a preview of the changes for Patch 25.14, alongside the release of Yunara. The ADC champion has a relatively friendly kit, and it will be interesting to see how she performs on release.
According to Phroxzon, they are quite happy with the state of the meta, even though there are gaps when it comes to AP junglers and assassins. This time around, the patch will be focusing on nerfing some of the best performers in the patch, with a lot of revolved around pro play. Several top picks are getting nerfed such as Pantheon, Twisted Fate, and Lee Sin. Among the nerfs, Yuumi is getting a special mention (thank god) as she is apparently frustrating to play against at the higher ends of the ranked ladder in the Chinese servers.
Additionally, some of the recent mechanics that got popular at the highest levels, such as unsealed spellbook supports that can use smite and haunting guise stacking for specific mid laners, are going to be tuned down. Some AD items, such as the Blade of the Ruined King, will be receiving some love.
The game designer also talked about nerfing down the power of both jungle and supports (especially melee in the current meta) and it will be a general strategy for the upcoming patches.
Below you can find the exact number changes for Patch 25.14.
What are the most impactful changes?
Aside from the release of Yunara and the rework on Kled, the main champions we are going to be taking a look at are Ziggs, Rod of Ages, and Blade of the Ruined King.
The first is getting a substantial hit damage increase when it comes to scaling, which can potentially bring him back in the meta, especially as a bot lane answer.
Rod of Ages is getting additional mana, which will make control mages such as Anivia and Ryze much more powerful. Getting free 100 mana upon item completion is quite underrated. The same thing can be said for Blade of the Ruined King, as heavy users like Irelia and Viego will indirectly be buffed.
For nerfs, a lot of changes will impact the higher ends of the ranked ladder. Lee Sin is getting nerfed once again after being buffed a few patches ago, and the same is said about Twisted Fate, who is getting his Q damage buff removed once again (in the end, he only got a 10 second cooldown reduction on his ultimate, which isn’t that great).
The Unsealed Spellbook nerf might also change some outcomes in games now that the smite will no longer match the jungler’s at all times, and less likely to steal objectives.
