With the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) fast approaching, Riot Games devs will soon be pushing out the update used for the competition, Patch 25.13.

League of Legends Patch 25.13 Preview: MSI Patch!

League of Legends Patch 25.13 – MSI is here!

Patch 25.12 has been officially released on June 11, coming with a long list of champion changes that have started to shake up the meta across different roles, mainly jungle and mid lane.

While the meta is still evolving, Riot Games game designer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison has unveiled the plans for Patch 25.13, which will be used throughout the Mid-Season Invitational. Unlike previous years, however, the patch for MSI seems to be much smaller, with only a couple of champion changes in the list at the moment.

According to Phroxzon, the balance team is “mostly happy with where the meta is at, given that a bunch of champions are pretty ceilinged on SoloQ power” and a good amount of diversity. With that in mind, the focused changes revolve around buffing up unpopular champions while also nerfing down a few of the outliers, namely Twisted Fate, Vi, Ryze, and Yorick.

The Ryze one is almost negligible and shouldn’t really impact his presence. Twisted Fate’s nerf is likely going to have an impact in solo queue compared to pro play. Vi will continue to be picked in specific team comps where she can shine in pro play, despite being repeatedly nerfed over the past few months. The base armor loss on Yorick might be bigger than it seems and will definetely hurt his laning phase.

The last three have been quite dominant in terms of presence in professional play, while Twisted Fate received a major buff in the last patch that made him quite the menace in SoloQ. Among the buffs, we’re mainly looking at Kindred and Nidalee, who are likely going to be present at MSI. Kindred, in particular, is getting a major R cooldown reduction early on that will be on teams’ radar.
