Why the MSI Locations Matter

Each year’s MSI host city brings a unique flair to the tournament. Riot tends to rotate between places where the interest in LoL esports is at its highest. Typically, MSI typically hosts in the city or country where the League of Legends World Championship will take place in the following year.

For example, MSI 2024 took place in China, and Worlds 2025 will be in China. A similar trend happened in the edition before, where MSI 2023 was hosted in London and the UK’s capital was the hosting city for the Worlds 2024 grand final.
