One of the weirder events on the calendar for this season is the Fortnite Duos Console Victory Cash Cups. Quite a mouthful, but it’s an opportunity for players who might not get involved in competitive to jump into a tournament.

The Fortnite Duos Console Victory Cash Cups are a returning format from last season. It’s a combination of types of Cash Cups we’ve seen in the past. It’s both a console cup, limited to non-PC players, and a Victory Cup. Which is a tournament format that hasn’t been as common lately. If you’re looking to get involved in Fortnite tournaments, then the Fortnite Duos Console Victory Cash Cups are a perfect starting point.
This is how they’ll work:
Fortnite Duos Console Victory Cash Cups Format
The Fortnite Duos Console Victory Cash Cups are a unique format where players only really get rewarded for getting Victory Royales. Not consistency. However, to get to the round with cash prizes you’ll need to fight through the first session.
As a console cup, it’ll only be playable on consoles. These aren’t as big compared to PC events, but it’s great that there’s opportunities for console players, since Fortnite has such a big player base there. The other part of the name is the Duos bit, it’s played in the Duos format, so two player teams.
The game’s first round is played over two hours, with seven matches available to play. Or however many you can fit in for two hours. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze given that games can run half an hour. For the first round, players get points for both placement and kills. To progress to Round 2, they need to reach a certain threshold on the leaderboard. This is different depending on your Fortnite competitive regions. These are the cut offs:
- EU and NAC – Top 500
- OCE, Asia, ME, NAW, and BR – Top 250
Round 2 of the Fortnite Duos Console Victory Cash Cup is different. It’s only a one-hour session. Players at most can compete in three matches. So, it’s a more cut throat format. You can crash out once or twice, but that’s it. In the second round, only Victory Royales matter. Making it a Victory Cup.

Fortnite Duos Console Victory Cups Scoring
The scoring for the second round of the Victory Cash Cups is quite simple. You just need to get a Victory Royale. That is all that counts for the Fortnite Duos Console Victory Cups. The first session does reward eliminations as well, but once you’re through to the main tournament there isn’t a leaderboard to worry about.
Prize Pool
With the unique nature of Victory Cups, the prize pool is a bit difficult. Players receive a set pay out for each win, but there isn’t an overall pool being split up. It’s more of an esports tournament for a bounty! Players get $200 between them for a Victory Royale. That’s per team, so $100 each since it’s a Duos Cup.
Fortnite Duos Console Victory Cash Cups Dates
It’s taking place across the whole season, with events played every week. It’s a much bigger spread of events for the Chapter 6 Season 3 tournaments than last season. These are the dates you can catch the Duos Console Victory Cash Cups.
- Friday June 27th
- Saturday June 28th
- Friday July 19th
- Saturday July 19th
- Friday July 25th
- Saturday July 26th
- Friday August 1st
- Saturday August 2nd
These will take us right up till the end of the current Fortnite season. They’re running with session 1 on Friday, and session 2 the next day.
How to Take Part
Since this is a console cup, it’s going to be open to all players, from the worst to the best Fortnite trios. Anyone who is allowed to take part in the Fortnite tournaments in general can hop in. There are no major requirements for the Fortnite Duos Console Victory Cash Cups.

Although, you have to get to Gold in any one of the Ranked modes to get in. Gold isn’t particularly high, and Reload, Zero Build, and OG all count. It shouldn’t be a barrier to taking part in Fortnite tournaments. Ranked is cross-play, so you’ll have to face PC players for a bit even if the Fortnite Duos Console Victory Cash Cups will be console only.
