Fortnite Champion Crystal FNCS Cup

To celebrate another FNCS Major, we’re getting a brand-new skin to match the tournament. Each season we get a special FNCS branded skin alongside the Major. It’s available in the shop for some V-Bucks, but if players want to unlock it for free, tit’s also available as the prize in the new Fortnite Champion Crystal FNCS Cup.

A new Fortnite Cosmetic Cup has just been announced alongside this skin. Not only can players unlock the skin for free, but early too! You’ll be able to try it out in lobbies before most players can pick it up. It’ll only unlock for the best players in each Fortnite server region though. How can you take part and try to win the skin? This is how everything is going to work:

Champion Crystal FNCS Cups Format

How exactly will the Champion Crystal FNCS work? It’s going to be a Solos event, and played in standard tournament settings Battle Royale. Which means no items like the Myst Gauntlets any more. A bit of a better-balanced version of the loot pool.

The tournament is being played in a single session format. Players load into the Fortnite tournament and have three hours to compete. They can play up to ten matches, but if you’re placing highly then making all ten might be a struggle for time.

These Cups have multiple games running at once. So sometimes it’s a matter of who ends up in your lobby. If you get unlucky and get some of the best Fortnite players, it’ll be tricky. But if it’s just a lobby of people hoping to get the 8 point reward in the Champion Crystal FNCS Cup, it might be a bit easier.

Scoring

The scoring for the Champion Crystal FNCS Cup is using a similar format to most tournaments. This is how the scores break down:

• Victory Royale – 60 Points
• 2nd – 53 Points
• 3rd – 49 Points
• 4th – 47 Points
• 5th – 46 Points
• 6th – 45 Points
• 7th – 44 Points
• 8th – 43 Points
• 9th – 42 Points
• 10th – 41 Points
• Each placement, 1 fewer points down to
• 50th – 1 Point
• Eliminations – 2 Points

Eliminations do count for quite a bit in the Champion Crystal FNCS Cup! It’ll be staying alive that makes the biggest difference to points though. Coming in top 10 is worth 20 eliminations. As a Solos games, higher placement is trickier too.

Prize Pool

Players can unlock the Champion Crystal skin, but also the rest of the Fortnite locker bundle for this skin! That means the skin, back bling, even a Jam Track this time. This is all the items included in the locker bundle:

• Champion Crystal Outfit
• Ace’s Emblem Back Bling
• FNCS Star Wand Pickaxe
• Champion’s Bolt Wrap
• Eye of the Storm Jam Track

That’s the big prize, which will only be available for those who place highly enough in their region. However, a handful of other items are available in the Champion Crystal FNCS Cup. These will be:

• Crystal’s Run Spray – Earn 8 Points
• FNCS Charger Back Bling – 40 Points

The back bling will be available in the FNCS Major 3 drops too. So, players have more than one opportunity to pick it up for free.

The cut offs for getting the big prize of the skin is a little different depending on which region you’re playing the Champion Crystal FNCS Cup in. These are the top number of players who will receive the skin in the Fortnite competitive regions:

• OCE – Top 200
• Asia – Top 200
• Middle East – Top 200
• EU – Top 2,000
• Brazil – Top 200
• NAC – Top 1,800
• NAW – Top 200

How to Take Part

Everyone is eligible to take part in Fortnite tournaments can jump in. That means you need to have 2FA turned on, along with being at account level 50. As this is a cosmetic cup, players don’t need to meet the extra requirements to take part in Cash events. It will count towards the rolling minimum tournament entry number for bigger events too! So, if you’re hoping to make it into Cash Cups soon, the Champion Crystal FNCS Cup is a good chance to get your numbers up along with some practise.
