Who is the best Fortnite player of all time? Across the millions and millions of daily players, and thousands in esports, there’s a lot of competition to be the very best. But there’s a good handful who you could definitely highlight as the best Fortnite players of all time.
Each year, tons of Fortnite competitors head into tournaments hoping to become the best of a season. Only a few walk away as new FNCS champions, and even out of those, only a handful can claim to be one of the best Fortnite players of all time.
In the years since the game’s release, the meta has come on quite a bit. The top players of Chapter 1 don’t really hold a candle to those competing now. Looking at who won which events though, the names that established the modern meta, and the biggest accomplishments. There are some stand outs. From players still competing and pushing things forward, to now retired players with records that still stand. These are the contenders for the best Fortnite players of all time.
Mero can be held up as one of the best Fortnite players of all time. He’s one of a handful of players who are tied for FNCS wins, at six racked up. The Canadian player has been competing since 2019, and has earned over a million in prize money.
He’s been winning FNCS events since Chapter 2, won a LAN, and is still a player in Chapter 6 Season 2 tournaments today.
Th0masHD might not have tied the FNCS wins record. In fact, he’s still never won one. But his accomplishments and skills at the game put him above the vast majority of the winners. Th0masHD is a Danish player who has been active in 2018, he’s probably the best player to never win an FNCS. In his time, he’s came in second or third more times than a lot of pros have qualified.
While the big wins are always seemingly just slightly out of reach, the Fortnite’s best runner up has collected more prize money than most old champions. Including just missing out at LANs, like second in the 2024 Global Championship.
Arkhram is one of the contenders for best Fortnite player who is no longer playing. He achieved six FNCS wins in three years, and then left the game. Making him tied for most FNCS wins. That includes victory in quite a few Chapter 2 events and the Grand Royale that closed that Chapter out. As a retired player though, more and more still active players can overshadow these acomplishments. Arkhram is now competing in Valiant.
Another of the best Fortnite players still competing is EpikWhale. He’s also tied for most FNCS wins, but also won events like Gamers8 outside of that. He’s amassed just under 2 million in winnings from these events. EpikWhale is one of the names in Fortnite esports that has been around for a long time. He even came in third at the World Cup! Most players don’t last too long at the top of Fortnite so EpikWhale is a clear standout.
One player that’s been legendary in Fortnite for a long time now is Bugha. The World Cup champion was the World Cup winner, which has made him the Fortnite player with the highest earnings. But he has more recent results to back up his status.
He’s won multiple FNCS and despite the huge changes we’ve seen to the game, always seems to rise back up. Bugha might not be the best active player in today’s lobbies, but he’s one of the best Fortnite players of all time when we consider his peak and accomplishments.
The best Fortnite player active today is Peterbot. But of all time? It’s debateable, Peterbot looks like he’s already cemented his status in the game. With his incredible run in Chapter 5 and continued strength in Chapter 6, he’s pushed beyond the brief window that most pros have at their absolute prime.
If Peterbot’s run continues, he’ll end up the pick for best Fortnite player of all time. So far, he seems to have beat the normal fate of the top performing pros and stayed on top of the game.
Those are our picks for the best Fortnite of all time. But with the game changing as quickly as Fortnite updates come out, new names can rise all the time. We still have space for new competitors to enter the game and raise the bar. The game might be much more developed than it was when Bugha was breaking out, but recent FNCS have shown there’s always room for improvement.
And stay up to date on all the latest trends in esports
