This week, a new tournament is kicking off with a chance to win a popular new collab skin for free! The Wednesday Addams Haunted Cup will be a great chance to unlock a skin without parting with their hard-earned V-Bucks. For some players, it could even help them get access to cash Fortnite competitions thanks to the requirement to enter enough smaller tournaments. How will the whole thing worm?

Tournaments in Fortnite esports comes in a few different types, from the biggest like the FNCS down to these smaller cosmetic events which are often better for newer competitors. The Wednesday Addams Haunted Cup is one of these smaller cosmetic cups. Essentially, they’re like Cash Cups, but the major prize isn’t cash, but instead Fortnite cosmetics for free. These tournaments are still great for staying in tournament shape, and testing your mettle in some tougher lobbies.

Not to mention the prize! Although, that only goes to the top players in each region. Pretty much everyone taking part can get a free emote though! If you want to get involved, this is how the Wednesday Addams Haunted Cup is going to work:

This week, we’ll see quite a few tournaments happens, from Duos Division events, to Performance Evals. On the cosmetic side though, we’ll be getting the Wednesday Addams Haunted Cup. A special event to celebrate the launch of this new collab skin. It’s a cosmetic cup which gives players the chance to win the skin for free.

For Fortnitemares, we’ve seen a ton of different Fortnite collabs added to the game. Loads are on the map. But one of the most exciting hasn’t arrived just yet. Players are still waiting for the Wednesday Fortnite skin, ever since it was revealed in the launch trailer. The collab will come at a decent cost of V-Bucks, unless you win it in this tournament. It’s taking place on October 23rd on all Fortnite regions, just at a different time.

For the Wednesday Fortnite skin and the Jason skin, we’ve had these Haunted Cups for a chance to unlock it. Cosmetic cups where thousands can get the skin for free. This is how it’s going to work:

Format

How will the tournament be played? It’s an event taking place in the Reload game mode. The smaller Battle Royale with fewer players and limited respawns. It’ll also be played in the Duos format.

The Wednesday Addams Haunted Cup is a single session event. There’s no qualifier and second role. Instead, you compete in a single session. Players will get two and a half hours, in this time they can play up to ten matches. Their scores at the end of this period are on a leaderboard which then decides everyone’s placement.

There’s no need to worry about coming in the very top 10 though. There’s a much wider group getting the free skin this time. We don’t expect any individual lobby to be full of the best Fortnite players though. It’ll be a lot more spread out since it’s a cosmetic cup.

Scoring

Since this is a relatively basic format, like the last Haunted Cup, the scoring is pretty important! It’s a Reload tournament, placement points are only for the higher end of the lobby. But kills are easier to get! The Wednesday Addams Haunted Cup also has higher storm sickness, which is typical for Reload. These are the points and how players earn them:

How to Play in the Wednesday Addams Haunted Cup

The other benefit to taking part in the Wednesday Addams Haunted Cup is that it counts towards the tournament count. To take part in cash event, you’ll need to complete enough non-cash tournaments. This is a security measure which helps to keep cheaters out of events. Taking part in cosmetic cups like these are a good way to get your count up. As well as getting a bit more experience.
