One of the biggest losses of the current FNCS, might be Peterbot and Pollo breaking up. But in a recent stream we’ve learned they’ll be together for FNCS 2026.
In a recent stream, we’ve learned a bit more about the teams competing in FNCS 2026. Two of the best Fortnite players, Peterbot and Pollo, will be back together for the next year. These two had an amazing run in Chapter 5. Winning everything from Major 2 onwards, including a very competitive LAN.
In 2025 and the switch to trios though, things got messier for the pair. They split, and a change in rules scuppered their plans to reunite for the second major. While they’ve committed to play through this year on their respective trios, they’ll be reuniting for the next FNCS. With a third player on their team to be determined yet.
This combo could once again be one of the best Fortnite teams. Although, with the format still up in the air and all of the changes over 2025, how will this team compete once they’re back together?
One of the biggest changes this year with the FNCS events has been Peterbot and Pollo splitting. Each player’s new trio has won one of our Majors so far. The possibility of a Peterbot and Pollo joint team in Major 2 looked set to dominate the season too. Until Epic decided to make trios splitting up dependent on everyone agreeing and signing off. So all six players had to opt out. Meaning they had to stick with their Major 1 teammates.
Now, we’ve got confirmation they’ll be back together for FNCS 2026. Peterbot and Pollo are seeing a lot of each other this season though. The pair have been hot dropping the same POI, repeatedly, for weeks and weeks. It’s gotten to the point that commentator AussieAntics has a long running scoreboard about who wins the most 50/50s.
That particular decision is costing both Trios a lot this season. But getting them back together next year will be a big improvement for both. Speaking on a recent stream, Peterbot said that him and Pollo were playing next year. But their last team mates still needs to be decided. On the stream, he said they’d rotate through Acorn, Ajerss, Ritual and Cold. With the standout player joining their team. A combination of Cold, Peterbot, and Pollo would be a great Trio. But there’s still the possibility of the remaining three joining up and playing together, they’re all some of the best active players right now.
We know that Peterbot and Pollo will be playing again together in 2026, but a lot of the FNCS is still a mystery. We don’t yet know what format the game will take for the next FNCS. Lately it’s been Trios and Duos exclusively, but past FNCS winners have been in Solos, Squads, every format over the years. We’ve seen every format in the tournament. A return to Duos or sticking with Trios seems the most likely this time around though.
Since the format was solidified in its current Majors and LAN circuit, we’ve seen formats stick around a lot longer. Not just switching over every season anymore. We could another year of Trios. Although, a return to the older format might be likely too.
Trios just about works for competitive Fortnite, but it has a lot of drawbacks compared to Duos. Keeping to two players avoids the messier endgames and seems to be more engaging for viewers. The Duos events always seem to hold people’s attention a little longer. We’ll have to see what Epic has in store for next year.
It’s an exciting tease for FNCS 2026, but first we’ve got the rest of 2025’s competitive events to play through. That starts with this season’s next FNCS Major. We’ll see the top trios competing for the final spots at the LAN. Just a short while after this Major, the LAN itself will take place.
The current FNCS is due to end by September. This will leave quite a bit of the year without an official FNCS circuit. We’ll have the normal smaller tournaments like Cash Cups. Fortnite leakers are pointing to a Simpsons mini-season coming too, which might not be all that competitively viable. It’ll probably very few tournaments, like we saw in Galactic Battle or Fortnite Remix.
After a long break, the FNCS 2026 will finally begin again next year. Once again back in a new Chapter and a fresh map.
