The current spectrum of Fortnite tournaments is lacking a few elements, specifically there’s no C6 S3 Solo Cash Cup. However, one streamer decided to host their own instead. This week, AussieAntics held their first Solo Cash Cup of the season. A tournament put on by the streamer, with a smaller prize pool but the potential to see Solo gameplay. However, the defining moment wasn’t a big win, but Peterbot and Pollo deciding to play incredibly pettily.

Peterbot and Pollo Fight Over a Single Chest in C6 S3 Solo Cash Cup

Since Chapter 1, Solos haven’t been the focus for Fortnite esports. Although, most seasons have had a decent number of Cash Cups still. Smaller events with decent prizes played over a single day. They’ve been skipped this season though, with only Duos events or bigger tournaments like the FNCS Major 3 planned.

It’s great to see content creators stepping up to make sure there’s still a C6 S3 Solo Cash Cup event. However, if you were hoping to see the big hitters from the best Fortnite teams going solo, there’s been a hold up. Not everyone took part in the tournament, since this was an outside tournament rather than one of Epic’s own offerings. While AussieAntics did get quite a few of the biggest names, the two most notable decided to play as weirdly as physically possible. Choosing to fight off spawn for a single gun, over and over again.

With Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 launching, players are starting to figure out how the meta for the game works. Including the best landing spots this season. If you were to look at how two of the best Fortnite players over the last year went, there’s one clear winner for landing spots.

In the new Demon’s Domain POI, Peterbot and Pollo both hot dropped every game of this stream session! Not just hot dropping the POI though. Instead, they were fighting for a single chest, with a randomly chosen weapon dropping out of it.

Rather than bothering to engage with the tournament they decided to play in a strange way. Dropping on a chest. Whoever gets first, kills the other. It was a mess.

This isn’t to say we didn’t get some fun play in the C6 S3 Solo Cash Cup though! In one game Peterbot found a dog treat, threw it out, and decided to kill himself and Pollo instead of accepting he didn’t get the gun this game. This was all while apparently trash talking on the players call. In other games, different pros in the lobby decided to also contest that one single chest, making for even more mayhem.

If there’s one take away from the Solo Cash Cup, it’s that Pollo and Peterbot are having a lot of fun with their notoriety and position as two of the best Fortnite players active now.

This C6 S3 Cash Cup was pretty fun, but why did we get one without an official Cup in the Fortnite tournaments? The former Fortnite commentator and now content creator decided to host one. Since the current Fortnite tournaments don’t include any solo events, he put the prize pool up himself to get something to commentate on stream.

The Cash Cup even had a prize pool put up to incentivize players to get involved. Although, given how Peterbot and Pollo played, it might not have been enough to get them to play 100% most seriously! With the tournaments currently focused on trios and few smaller events, it’s great to get a bit more variety here.

These events are also a fun test at how the season is progressing. Between this and the Performance Evaluations, it looks like this will be a very interesting season for Fortnite esports.
