One of the biggest new features of Chapter 6 Season 3 has been the Fortnite Superman Mythic. A chance for players to transform into Superman, fly around the map, use super strength and even laser vision. But it’s also one of those one a game transformations. They make a single player into a boss with immunity from damage… which makes the game kind of boring for everyone else. Now, after just a week it has already been disabled. The Kryptonian Form Fortnite had for only a week, might be gone permanently.

Fortnite Superman Mythic Disabled Today

For the last few seasons, the boss transformations have had a weird pattern. They get added. Then they spend a few weeks getting their spawn rates adjusted. Sometimes it’s 100%, so every game gets it. Then it gets changed back to only half of games having it. Sometimes it’s down to 10% of games. But instead of making getting the Fortnite Superman transformation harder, Epic has disabled it entirely in the last update. It’s gone entirely.

We didn’t get a major update for this last week, but two smaller changes have been made without a patch. First, we’ve had some of the old Rocket League items re-enabled in the game like the Octane car. But we’ve also seen the Fortnite Superman Mythic disabled. Without much news about if it’s permanent or just down to some exploit. What’s changed and will it come back for the end of the season?

Fortnite Superman Mythic Disabled

It might not be a big Fortnite update week, but there has already been a major change to the game’s balance. We’ve seen the Fortnite Superman Mythic turned off. It hasn’t been in the game very long. This weekend saw the spawn rate boosted to 100% But now it has been turned off entirely! Why has it been removed from the game?

It does seem a bit too early for this to be the final end for the Superman transformation. There is still a while left before the Fortnite season ends. Although, we are reaching the FNCS now which usually means a bit of a different focus. But it’s not like the Fortnite Superman Mythic is part of the tournament loot pool anyway.

After a weekend at a 100% spawn rate, it might be that the transformation has had its go. It started a little weak. Then, after Epic buffed it, being Superman was overpowered. But these transformation Mythics are never balanced. They essentially make the game a race to a portal, followed by a single player having fun stomping bots. But that’s been the case for the last few seasons, and they weren’t vaulted early.

If this is the end for the Fortnite Superman mythic, hopefully everyone got to try out being the Man of Steel. Although, we could see it return for the final week of the season still. The Doctor Doom transformation similarly came back for our last weekend, for anyone who missed the feature entirely.

Kryptonian Form Fortnite

Since the last update, you might have seen a lot of talk about the Kryptonian Form Fortnite. This is the official term for the Superman transformation! Since Superman is in the game as an NPC, a skin anyone can wear, a sprite bumbling around the map, and dog treats kind of, it’s good to be specific. It’s the Kryptonian Form Fortnite removed recently! This has been taken out of the game.

Of course, the Superman elements are still there elsewhere. We’ve still got the skin, you can still unlock it if you level up quickly enough or hit the top Fortnite XP maps though. It’s just the transformation that’s gone. We’ve still had no official word about if it’s coming back either. so right now it looks like it’s done. But it might be worth watching out after the FNCS have completed, Epic might bring it back for a short while before the end of the season.

Other Fortnite Changes

Alongside the Fortnite Superman transformation being vaulted, we’ve seen another handful of game changes. The Rocket League car has been re-enabled, to coincide with a bunch of new quests for that game which lets players unlock free cosmetics for Fortnite.

We’ve also had the addition of the Fortnite Summer Road Trip quests. These are a n opportunity to earn a free car by playing a lot of creative and Battle Royale. While the Fortnite Superman Mythic might be gone, there’s not long left in the season now. Which means players only have a short while to play around with the superhero items and meta before they’re likely removed from the game for good.
