There’s a new tournament coming this week, the Fortnite Jason Haunted Cup. As the game has moved into Fortnitemares for Chapter 6 Season 4, we’ve had a ton of new features. Including some big Fortnite collabs, like Jason coming as a Fortnite skin. If players want to get the free Jason skin in Fortnite, this tournament is an opportunity for that!

Most Fortnite collab skins aren’t free. We do get promotions pretty regularly. Like the current free Fortnite Halloween skin. But not often collabs, and the Jason skin is a paid one. Most people will have to spend some V-Bucks to get the Jason skin. That doesn’t mean no one can get it for free though. To celebrate major releases Epic holds Cosmetic cups. With the best performing players getting the skin for free! In the Fortnite Jason Haunted Cup, you can take a shot at earning it.

This new tournament is going to be ran in Reload. The first of a series of Haunted Cups that are giving away some Halloween skins. If you want to take a shot at getting the free Jason skin in Fortnite, this is how you can try. It isn’t just the very best players, in some regions hundreds can unlock some of these cosmetics for free! This is how the event works and how you can take part:

Fortnite Jason Haunted Cup Explained

The Fortnite Jason Haunted Cup is the latest in a longer line of cosmetic cups. These are basically the same as Fortnite Cash Cups, but players can earn cosmetics instead of cash. It’s decent for getting your required non-cash tournament count up, as well as saving some V-Bucks! If you want to take part in the Fortnite Jason Haunted Cup, it’s as easy as jumping in from the launcher.

There’s a handful of different Fortnite Haunted Cups that are happening soon. Each is going to give players a chance at earning the new Fortnite collabs. The first is the Fortnite Jason Haunted Cup, but we’re expecting some more tournaments to come later too. Including one giving away the Wednesday Fortnite skin. As a Cash Cup, it’s got a familiar format to other smaller events.

Format

How exactly will the Fortnite Jason Haunted Cup work? This will be a Reload tournament, played in Duos. As a Reload tournament, it’ll be played in that faster paced and more combat focused mode. These tournaments also have fewer points for placement. The storm damage is dialled up too, ever since the earliest tournaments where players sat in Storm forever. There are some Battle Royale events still going on, but in between FNCS events Reload is getting a bit more focused.

The Fortnite Jason Haunted Cup will have a two and a half hour session. Players can take part in ten different matches. At the end of the session, the result is decided from an overall leaderboard. It’s a fairly simple format! Place highly, get kills, and you’ll come in higher.

Scoring

Scoring can be a bit different in Fortnite Reload. This is how players can earn points in the Fortnite Jason Haunted Cup:

• Victory Royale – 10 Points
• 2nd – 9 Points
• 3d – 8 Points
• 4th – 7 Points
• 5th – 6 Points
• 6th – 5 Points
• 7th – 4 Points
• 8th – 3 Points
• 9th – 2 Points
• 1st – 1 Point
• Elims – 1 Point

When is the Jason Haunted Cup?

When can you take part in the Fortnite Jason Haunted Cup? There are quite a few different Haunted events happening, but it begins on October 16th. This is when the tournament will take place. The exact time will vary on which of the Fortnite regions you’re in though, so keep an eye out.

How to Take Part

How exactly can you compete in the Fortnite Jason Haunted Cup? Since it’s a non-cash competitive event with just cosmetics, the restrictions are a little easier. You still have to meet the basic requirements to take part in Fortnite tournaments though. Like having 2FA turned on, being old enough, and the other requirements like not being banned for cheating.

The Fortnite Jason haunted Cup will only award cosmetics to the best performing players. Although, anyone gets 8 points will take home the TGIF emoticon, so it’s worth everyone taking part. This is how many get the skin in each region:
