Kick Enters Fortnite With Formula 1 Collab

Fortnite has had a new collab announced this week, one with the world of sports. Fortnite Formula 1 will be a whole range of skins! But the weirdest part of this crossover isn’t the racing skins that are being introduced, but the other brand that is making its way in through this. Since the Fortnite Formula 1 collab is going for authenticity, the live streaming platform Kick is getting a little ad inside Fortnite.

Kick Enters Fortnite With Formula 1 Collab

The Fortnite Formula 1 skins are one of the wider collabs we’ve had recently! We’re expecting the whole collaboration to drop very soon, with Epic already unveiling the new skins. These are a set of different skins made up to look just like F1 drivers! The actual models aren’t as exciting as some others in the item shop these days. Like the Lewis Hamilton Fortnite Icon Skin. But they have some fun details.

New Fortnite Formula 1 Collab

The new Fortnite Formula collab has been unveiled ahead of its release! There’s a ton of different skins we’ve gotten a look at. They do follow a similar model to some older Fortnite collabs though. It’s close to the classic style of doing sports skins.

The collab is a bunch of the normal Fortnite characters we see as various other skins, but dressed up as Formula 1 drivers. Featuring sponsored clothes for some reason, which has had the side effect of bringing a bunch of logos into the game. The roster of characters to get sports skins has expanded since Chapter 1 though.

The characters previously used were just defaults, Ramirez, Jonesy, etc. But now there’s a few extras. We’ve got more recent Fortnite characters and designs joining them. These are the Fortnite Formula 1 skins we’ve seen so far:

These were uncovered by dataminers. They’ve also gotten a good idea about when the new collab is going to come to the game too. It looks set to arrive in one of the next item shop changeovers! We might be part way through a Simpsons mini season, but other collabs have been coming pretty regularly still. Like Fortnite X Tyler the Creator which arrived earlier in the week.

Kick Comes to Fortnite

The Fortnite Formula 1 skins are fun, but one of them means that Kick is coming to Fortnite. This platform has been a sponsor of the Formula 1. So it’s included on official outfits. Which means these new skins are recreating that sponsorship too! The Kick logo is prominently displayed on one of these skins. It’s a little weird for a sponsorship to make its way into the game, but it does help with authenticity.

The Kick streaming platform is a little different to most of the others. Twitch is the most popular, and has its share of controversies. But Kick exists for one specific purpose; gambling streams. Twitch’s quite loose rules with gambling streams were too restrictive. To get around the very limited rules, the owners of a casino that’s known for kind of shady behaviour set up Kick. A streaming platform where they can openly have streamers promote gambling as widely as possible. There are other streams on Kick, but it’s still dominated by gambling.

It’s weird to see a Kick logo showing up in Fortnite. Formula 1 often has sponsors which go outside of the kinds of brands which show up in Fortnite. Even featuring tobacco sponsors for longer than most other industries. At least no Marlboro logo has made its way onto a Fortnite skin too.

Fortnite still hosts regular collaborations with other streaming platforms. Twitch drops are quite regular once again. players can get exclusive cosmetics typically with the launch of new seasons or events. It has yet to have an official collaboration with Kick though. Outside of this little cameo in the Fortnite Formula 1 skins.
