CourageJD Fortnite Skin Joins the Icon Series

Another Fortnite streamer is about to be immortalized in-game, with the CourageJD Icon Skin. This series is where Epic highlights the pro players, streamers, and other real-life people to become Fortnite skins. There’s quite a few now, but new streamers making it in is still worthy of celebration, like the CourageJD Fortnite Skin. This time, it’s one of the best-known Fortnite streamers in the world.

CourageJD might not be the most watched Fortnite streamer, but he does tend to show up on a ton of different channels. He’s the player who joins in other streamer’s games, both in videos and all over Twitch too. People who watch NickEh30 will see him a ton, same if you watch streamers like Ninja. He’s generally happy to be the second part of a Fortnite game. But that has made him one of the most recognizable players in the game.

This week, CourageJD has revealed the new details of his upcoming Fortnite skin. This comes after he turned down a locker bundle some time ago, since all skins he wanted to include were from the Battle Pass. He’s making it into the game itself as the CourageJD Fortnite skin though. These are all of the details we’ve gotten shown off so far:

CourageJD Fortnite Skin Coming

This week, CourageJD has revealed the details of his Fortnite Icon Skin! A new skin which is designed to look like him. Wearing either a Black or White jacket. With the standard muscular Fortnite hitbox, that fits a little better since the streamer has more recently gotten into shape. Although, Epic’s skin designs usually pretty much ignore an Icon Series member’s actual body type, height, or anything like that.

This reveal puts an end to the jokes about the CourageJD Icon Skin from streamers who are already part of the series. The skins is also coming with a second character in the bundle, a new boss-style character that’s part of the Fortnite collab this season.

The other skin that’s coming is a new version of the Knight skin, from the early Chapter 1 Battle Pass. There are two versions of this skin just like CourageJD Fortnite skin. One in white and gold, and then one in black.

These are quite similar to existing knight skins. Like the one added for Fortnite OG’s original mini season. The skin that’s based on, or even the Ageless boss in Chapter 5. Why the Fortnite CourageJD Icon Skin has a boss form isn’t clear. But most releases in this series go beyond just a simple skin these days.

The CourageJD Fortnite skin will come with a few other cosmetics too. Like a Fortnite Sidekick. This will be Louis, based on the streamer’s dog. Along with two emotes, a back bling, wrap, and even a pickaxe. It’s all designed to match the different skins here too.

When Does the CourageJD Icon Skin Release?

Those are the details of the CourageJD Fortnite skin, but when will it release? The full set is coming in a bundle, where you’ll get both designs of skins alongside the other items like the sidekick. This will release around a week after it got announced. It’s coming to the item shop on the December 17th reset.

Players can compete to get it for free though. There’s going to be a Fortnite Cosmetic Cup happening too where players can unlock it.

The next tournament is being held for the CourageJD Icon Skin, these cosmetic cups don’t let you compete in an FNCS level tournament, but it does give an opportunity to win the skin for free. Plus, it counts towards the minimum tournament numbers you need to reach to enter Cash events. So still worth playing.

The CourageJD Icon Cup is happening a little early. It’ll take place on December 13th. Those who come high enough in each region will get the CourageJD Icon Skin for free, along with the other items. These Cups usually see a ton of players getting the items in Europe and North America, then a few hundred of the competing top Fortnite players in the smaller regions. It’s proportional to player base, like the prize pools for cash tournaments.

Who Will Joining the Icon Series Next?

This latest addition of the CourageJD Fortnite skin is surprising, but it brings in another streamer from a group that’s well represented in the game so far. Who’s next? We’ve recently had a few Fortnite pros make the cut, like Clix and MrSavage. But the identity of the next Icon Skin is a mystery. We’ll have to wait and see who Epic wants to include in the game next.
