Falcons and FURIA have set up a fourth matchup in as many months, with the pair reaching the Grand Final of BLAST Rivals Hong Kong 2025. There were very few surprises on the server as the in-form teams beat their struggling counterparts in Vitality and paiN Gaming respectively.

If you watched FURIA vs. paiN Gaming earlier in BLAST Rivals Hong Kong 2025, you’d be forgiven for thinking the latter had a real chance in this matchup. Despite being the better team on paper, FURIA survived by the skin of their teeth, while paiN Gaming overperformed their own expectations. Here, with the pressure at its highest, it was a totally different story.

FURIA threatened to embarrass paiN from the outset, taking map one of Nuke 13:3. Considering a strong Nuke is a hallmark of any strong biguzera team, this felt like a bad omen for map two. Ultimately, though, Overpass did go a little better for paiN, who were able to drag FURIA to Overtime. That was where their fight ended, though, with a dominant KSCERATO performance proving to be the winning formula for FURIA to take Overpass and round out the series 2:0.

This makes it a third consecutive Grand Final for FURIA at BLAST Rivals Hong Kong 2025. And when you consider FalleN’s stellar record in best-of-five Finals over the years, who would really bet against him?

Falcons swipe aside Vitality in two

Meanwhile, the second game of the BLAST Rivals Hong Kong Semi-Finals was between Falcons and Vitality, two teams on interesting trajectories right now. In Vitality, you have a team struggling to make those final pieces click, but still making deep Playoff runs out of sheer quality. But with Falcons, you have a team seemingly starting to make things work, after months of previous struggles. The last time these two teams faced was ESL Pro League Season 22, with Vitality running out 3:0 winners in the Grand Final. It was the opposite story here, Falcons taking it in two.

On map one, a Vitality lead of 11:6 was evaporated by Falcons’ T-side quality, and Overtime was needed. But at this point, a meek Vitality had already thrown their lead, and the mental was in the bin. Falcons took it 16:13, and Vitality had it all to do on Nuke. But, despite a stellar ZywOo showing, Falcons continued their momentum into map two, round it out with a much more comfortable 13:7.

The big positive for Falcons is kyousuke on Inferno. A reminder that before he joined the team, he had only played the map a few times in his career, so it was naturally one he felt very uncomfortable on. But here, with a 1.21 rating, he was able to find impact on Inferno against Vitality, which is no small feat. If Falcons have finally cracked Inferno, then that could be the last step needed to make this a true title-winning team. We’ll be able to find out the answer tomorrow when FURIA face Falcons in the BLAST Rivals Hong Kong 2025 Grand Final.
