The Thunderpick WC 2025 team lineup is complete following the conclusion of the online Closed Qualifier. After the likes of NAVI, The MongolZ, FURIA, and Aurora were announced last week, they’ll be joined by Venom, 9z, OG, and Imperial at the Malta LAN next month.

Venom provide the Thunderpick WC 2025 underdog story

After beating both NIP and Nemiga without dropping a single map, Polish stack Venom are headed to the Thunderpick WC 2025. They are by far the biggest surprise package so far, and it’ll be exciting to see them test their mettle against even better teams.

You may know innocent from the Venom CS2 lineup – he attended a few of the early CS:GO Majors, including DreamHack Winter 2014, PGL Major Krakow 2017, and ELEAGUE Major Boston 2018. To still be reaching top-tier LANs after all these years is a great achievement for innocent, and I’m excited to see what he can bring to the Thunderpick World Championship 2025.

OG secure Thunderpick World Championship return

They finished in 4th place at last year’s Thunderpick World Championship, but OG have locked in a return to this year’s iteration with wins over M80 and BIG. That is two very impressive scalps to take for the team throughout the Thunderpick WC Closed Qualifier, and should give them the confidence that they’re not just headed to Malta to be sent packing early.

Individually, it’s IGL Chr1zN who has impressed the most throughout the Closed Qualifier, leading from the front with a 1.35 K/D. However, arrozdoce has been no slouch for OG either, so the team has a great base to take into next month’s LAN in Malta.

9z beat Jame’s PARIVISION to reach second LAN of 2025

9z have been going under the radar for a while now, grinding out online event after online event in the never-ending pursuit of VRS points. Well, file this one under one of their biggest successes yet, taking down Jame’s PARIVISION team to reach only their second LAN of 2025. 2:0 was the score, and PARIVISION never really looked like a threat in this one.

The Thunderpick WC 2025 now represents an excellent opportunity for 9z. We all know how important these LANs are now when it comes to the VRS, and they have a great opportunity in Malta to really set themselves up for invites heading into 2026. Will they grasp it? Tune in to find out.

Imperial became the final team to reach the Thunderpick WC 2025 after beating Legacy in a battle of South America. After going 12:4 down on map one, it looked set to be a disastrous start for Imperial, but they battled back to win the map 16:14. Despite the crushing loss, Legacy kept their mental intact for map two. Imperial did win the map, but it was hard-fought, going the distance 13:11, securing their place in Malta.

Now, all eight teams in the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 are officially confirmed. The full team list can be found below:

  • NAVI
  • The MongolZ
  • FURIA
  • Aurora
  • Venom
  • OG
  • 9z
  • Imperial

The action takes place between October 15th and 19th.
