FURIA have completed a remarkable 3:2 reverse sweep over NAVI to be crowned the champions of the Thunderpick World Championship 2025. What had all the makings of a swift ending proved to be a marathon, with the Brazilian organization finally finding life under the lights in Malta.

Earlier in the day, The MongolZ were able to secure 3rd place in a 2:1 series over Aurora, before all eyes moved to the main event.

The beginning of this series felt like a sign of things to come. As proceedings got underway on Mirage, NAVI put together a masterful 10:2 T-side, leaving FURIA shellshocked. No FURIA comeback was ever going to be enough under these circumstances, and map one finished 13:6.

We at least saw a more competitive map two on Inferno. NAVI’s T-side superiority remained with a 7:5 half, but they also showed their best face on the CT side, too. Even with AWPer w0nderful struggling, the rifling core of iM, makazze, and b1t more than made up for it with 48 kills between them. From there, they were able to secure an early 2:0 series lead in 13:9 fashion.

After all the hype, FURIA were in deep trouble. It was time for a mental reset ahead of what would need to be a miraculous comeback. On Nuke, it was FalleN rolling back the years that kept FURIA alive, the team’s talisman buying time for his stars to come back online. 13:8, and it was officially game on.

Dust2 was where the winds really started to blow in the other direction. That was where molodoy came online, and the series was never to be the same again. They were able to take map four 13:5, and it really felt as though NAVI were mentally flagging heading into the all-important decider.

“Stomp” doesn’t even begin to describe map five. NAVI were done, while FURIA continued to thrive. The once-confident NAVI looked a shell of their former selves, collapsing 13:1 right at the finish. FURIA had completed a legendary reverse sweep, very rarely seen at Tier 1 events like this.

With this win, FURIA have picked up their second trophy of 2025, following FISSURE Playground 2. The levels and expectations surrounding this team continue to change with every impressive victory.
